Wait Until Dark from the director Wait Until Dark, like the other plays this year, was chosen, because it was part of the Belleville Theatre Guild s history. I personally was interested because I had never really done a thriller and this was one that I only remembered as a movie. What a movie! Then I read it as a play and the same response, What a play! Frederick Knott has taken the extreme example of innocent vulnerability a young, attractive, blind woman and shown how that same young woman can grow in strength of character to, against all odds, prevail against the nastiest predators our theatre has ever been so lucky as to portray. Remembering Bob Long On December 21, 2011 we said good-bye to Bob Long, our friend and a long-time supporter of the Guild, who passed away unexpectedly following a short illness. Bob was on the Board of Directors for many years, and he was involved in activities both on stage and back stage, from acting to technical to stage management. Many of you will recognize Bob as the public face of the Guild as he was for so long the person we relied upon to manage the Box Office and subscriptions. Bob s contributions to the BTG were so many and so varied that his impact will surely be felt for countless years to come. Our sympathies go out to his wife, Joan, and all his family and friends.
