1 EXCELLENT COMMUNITY THEATRE SEASON Directed by STEVE FORRESTER February Pinnacle Playhouse 256 Pinnacle Street Belleville
2 THE CAST ROLE Austin Ruth All other females All other males ACTOR Scott Roodvoets Moira Nikander-Forrester Meaghan Lattanzio Wayne Clark The play is set on a terrace balcony off a condominium in a high-rise building overlooking Boston Harbour ca The play is performed with NO INTERMISSION Playwrights Horizons, Inc., New York City, produced LATER LIFE Off-Broadway in Steve Baruch Richard Frankel Thomas Viertel The Shubert Organization Capital Cities/ABC, INC. presented LATER LIFE Off-Broadway in September 1993 Later Life from the director: This is the fifth play by A. R. Gurney that I have been involved with. Gurney is a prolific writer who has spent a lifetime exploring the comic potential of that endangered species, the American WASP and what I enjoy about his work is that it can be so touching and yet damned funny. I m lucky to have been able to share this fun with such a fine cast and crew. Steve Forrester To all our wonderful guests: Welcome to the Pinnacle Playhouse. We strive to make your experience a memorable one. Accessible seating is available for those in wheel chairs, walkers, etc., or for the hearing impaired. There is NO INTERMISSION and LATE COMERS WILL NOT be able to be seated; they can however watch the production from our lobby on the closed-circuit television monitor. Please turn off all electronic devices. Only bottled water is allowed in the theatre. Photographs, audio and video recordings are forbidden by copyright law. We hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoy performing it for you. The Later Life Cast

5 OUR SEASON subscribe and save - 5 plays for $80 CALENDAR GIRLS OCT. 8-25, 2015 based on the Miramax Motion Picture, screenplay by Juliette Towhidi and Tim Firth In this delightful and surprising play, a group of extraordinary women, members of a very ordinary English Women s Institute, decide to raise money for a cancer ward by posing for a charity calendar with a difference. IT S A WONDERFUL LIFE DEC. 3-19, 2015 Adapted for radio-on-stage by Anthony E. Palermo Written in classic radio play format and performed in a studio complete with live sound effects, the heartwarming story of George Bailey and his realization of the effect his life has had on his family, friends and community is a Christmas favourite. LATER LIFE Feb. 4-20, 2016 by A. R. Gurney In A.R. Gurney s bittersweet comedy. Austin and Ruth may re-ignite a former romance. On an apartment balcony in Boston and bombarded by an onslaught of well-wishers (played by only two other actors) they must decide what their later life may be. FOR THE PLEASURE OF SEEING HER AGAIN Apr. 7-23, 2016 by Michael Tremblay A funny, affectionate, and moving portrait of the bond between mother and son in a series of hilarious arguments about everything from rare roast beef to the mystery of where people go to the bathroom in novels. One of Michel Tremblay s most popular plays. THE MUSIC MAN June 2-18, 2016 by Meredith Willson There s trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. Meredith Willson s TONY Award winning musical is by turns wicked, funny, romantic and touching. The Music Man is family entertainment at its best and with songs like Trouble, Till There Was You, and Seventy-Six Trombones, you ll be singing as you leave the theatre.
