2 ALCATRAZ PROGRAM NOTE On June 11, 196, three American criminals, Clarence Anglin, John Anglin, and Frank Morris, atteted to escape rom the Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary on Alcatraz Island, San Francisco, Caliornia The inmates abricated dummy heads rom a mixture o soap, toilet paper and real hair, and let them in their beds to ool the prison oicers making their nightly counts They burroed through the concrete alls o their cells ith spoons, climbed through the service corridor and ventilation shat to the roo, scaled the ence and inlated a rat made rom the prison's standard issue raincoats and contact cement The prisoners entered the San Francisco Bay and atteted to paddle to reedom through rigid aters and strong currents The FBI s investigation as unable to determine hether the three men successully escaped or died in the attet ALCATRAZ or concert band ollos their ate rom sentencing to incarceration to escape BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE An accolished multi-instrumentalist and cooser, Andre David Perkins (b1978) holds a specialist certiicate in Orchestration rom the Berklee College o Music, a Master o Music degree rom the University o Michigan, and a Bachelor o Fine Arts degree rom Michigan State University For over a decade he has been actively arranging, coosing and conducting nationally and abroad Born in Royal Oak, Michigan into a musical amily, Perkins began coosing on the piano at age six His orchestral training accelerated at the Interlochen Arts Academy, and soon thereater he began undergraduate studies ocusing on music education and coosition Mr Perkins spent several seasons as a marching member and conductor o the Phantom Regiment drum bugle corps rom Rockord, Illinois He especially enjoys riting music or younger musicians, hich he has ocused on or the past e years Perkins has served as an adjunct proessor o Film Scoring at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan, as ell as the Director o Instrumental Music and Music Technology at Fenton High School in Fenton, Michigan He additionally serves as the Music Director and Conductor o the Fenton Community Orchestra Mr Perkins is a member o the American Society o Coosers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and sel-publishes as APOLLO STUDIOS Andre David Perkins currently resides in Michigan ith the love o his lie hom he married in 010, and their daughter His interests include photography, cinema, vintage guitars, basses and aliiers, gastronomy, and crat-breing Copyright 01 APOLLO STUDIOS All Rights Reserved andredavidperkinscom
