1 2 Editor s Note Wolgang Amadeus Mozart ( ) was e o the most signiint cooss o the ennese Classic style and is red today as e o the greatest cooss o l time. Mozart was a tremendously tented coos in the many orms o the Classic a, including opas, syhies, cctos, chamb works, satas, chor works, arias, and sgs. His works are highly red today or their beautiul melodies and rich harmies. Born in Szburg, Austria, Mozart s genius was apparent at a vy early age. He beme a wellkwn porm in many Eupean cities by his early teens, entuly sving as cctmast or the Archbishop o Szburg. In 1781, at becoming disctented with his low sary and the lack o opportunity or more opa coositi in Szburg, Mozart quit the positi and settled in enna. Achiing many successes in enna, he beme kwn as the inest keyboardist in the city, and he coleted a variety o works, including pia cctos and opas. Although he beme amous or a while, Mozart s re and inances graduly declined.
