1 Directions: An outdoor supply store in the Canadian Rockies is opening. They need a brochure to give to their customers helping them to prepare for the unpredictable wilderness. You will be creating a brochure for them on survival!! This will be presented as a tri-fold brochure with information and illustrations. You will be given a rubric to see how you will be graded as well. You will use the websites provided on Ms. Rieder s edlio page to find all the necessary information. The brochure and rubric will be due on Thursday, December 7. (20 total points) TRI-FOLD BROCHURE REQUIREMENTS (6 brochure pages): PAGE 1- Cover with a TITLE, PICTUREs, AUTHORS, and SLOGAN. PAGE 2- Table of contents PAGES 3-6- Topics: FOOD, WATER, SHELTER, FIRE o FOOD- Types found in the Canadian Wilderness (include what NOT to eat) and how to prepare/eat. o WATER- how to locate/purify/ store. o SHELTER- how to find or build. o BASIC FIRST AIDE- mosquito bites, sunburn, poison ivy, hypothermia IMPORTANT REMINDERS: At least 4 facts/ tips must be included about each topic. o These should be written in your own words, using the information you gather during your research. Each fact/tip must be include an appropriate website citation. Each brochure page must include at least 1 colorful illustration All writing must be typed and pasted onto the brochure
