2 Stanley Lee Was born in Java, Indonesia. He studied classical guitar and violin at an early age. He is a graduate with major in classical guitar from Ruhr State University for Music in Germany with an Artist Diploma in Performing Art. He has studied orchestra conducting and has been the conductor of Taipei Guitar Ensemble for many years. He studied with Prof. L. Beck in Germany, Master classes with Prof. Luise Walker in Vienna, Austria, with Prof. R. Saint de la Maza in Madrid, Spain and with Prof. A. Lagoya in Nice, France. He has been a guitar instructor at the Duisburg University in Germany, Shish Chien University in Taipei and San Jose City College. He has been named the Modern Teacher of Teachers for classical guitar in Taiwan. His recitals and concerts throughout Germany, many cities in Europe and Asia have been very successful! His first Asia debut was so successful that Sansui Recording Co. has made his first LP album with the title of Classical Guitar Favorites. Following that, he has also done two more LP recordings in Taipei and 3 cassette tape recordings in Jakarta, Indonesia. Stanley has performed at numerous TV and Radio appearances in Germany, Yugoslavia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Indonesia. In 1988 he founded the PCO (Polyphony Chamber Orchestra) together with his cofounder Anne Lee. They both have one goal in common Music Education for the young students and young artist to be with the motto For the Joy of Music. He is the PCO conductor until now. In 2004, together with his co-founder Anne Lee, he founded the PMA (Polyphony Music Academy) in Cupertino. Stanley is the Instructor for the classical guitar, music theory and music appreciation at PMA. Stanley has also been one the Board members of SBGS (South Bay Guitar Society) and the Executive Director of SJYS (San Jose Youth Symphony) in the Bay Area. Daisy You Known as one China s most distinguished Zheng (Gu-Zheng or Zither) soloists, Hui (Daisy) You was born in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Possessing precocious musical talent, she began to study Zheng at an early age. In 1978 You was admitted to the middle school of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and completed in 1983 with an excellent record. She continued to study Zheng at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. You also studied piano, qin, pipa, Chinese percussion music, and composition. In 1987 she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor s degree in Zheng. The Conservatory sponsored a solo recital featuring You, and her performance with two Zheng instruments tuned differently earned praise from both the experts and the audience. You has won many awards in Zheng, including first place in the Shanghai Spring Music Festival in 1986, the excellent award in the Art Competition for Chinese Instruments held in Beijing in 1989 and Zheng competition sponsored by CCTV in the same year and many Chinese domestic awards. Her Musical Recordings can be found on many publicly released CD; Movies/TV series, You has been profiled in many documentary radio programs - Hui You and her Zheng music by Radio Stations such as- Voice of America, China National Broadcasting Radio Station,(which introduces Chinese culture and music in thirty different languages)shanghai Radio Station, Xing Tao Chinese Radio US and many other regional radio stations. Her CDs Xian San, Fighting the Hurricane, and Sewing a Purse have sold numerous copies. After graduation, You also performed as a Zheng soloist with the Shanghai Dance Troupe. Since her immigration to U.S. in 1991, You has dedicated most of her time to teaching students and introducing Chinese music to the American Public. She was also one of the performers in the annual Bridge and Gate show in the Bay Area. In addition, her students have had successful performances with the North America Elite Youth Orchestra in 1999 and 2000 and received domestic and International Competitions awards. You joined the China Cultural Goodwill Tour of the Hunan Arts Group as a soloist and performed at the Majestic Theater in Dallas, Texas, in September of the same year. She has appeared as a soloist with the Ohlone Symphonic Pops Orchestra, the New Music Works, the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, and the San Francisco World Music Festival, Lecturer (Zheng) at Stanford University. You is enthusiastic about incorporating music from different cultures into Zheng performances. Kevin Zhu Born in November 2000, Kevin Zhu is in seventh grade at Lawson Middle School, California. He began studying violin at the age of three-and-a-half and is currently a scholarship student in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music preparatory division under Li Lin. Kevin has received numerous first prize awards in violin competition. Most significantly, he won first prize, at the age of 11, in the Junior Division of the 2012 Menuhin International Violin Competition in Beijing, becoming the youngest-ever winner in the 29-year history of the competition. He was also awarded the Composers Prize for best performance of a new Chinese work.

3 Kevin had a very successful debut with Philharmonia Orchestra, one of the world's greatest orchestras, before a full house at Royal Festival Hall in London on February 14. He was also selected to perform on National Public Radio s From the Top in 2012, and appeared on BBC Radio 3 Apart from his interest in music, Kevin especially enjoys studying science. In his spare time, Kevin likes swimming, playing games and basketball WenChun Ku Major prize recipient of Harrison Winter Concerto Competition and Taiwan National Competition, Dr. Wen-Chun Ku has performed extensively in the United States and at prestigious venues in her native Taiwan, such as National Concert Hall and Kuan Du Arts Festival. A passionate chamber musician, Dr. Ku has collaborated with the artistic director Roger Brunyate at Peabody Opera Theatre and renowned soprano Guiping Deng. Her performance involves miscellaneous playing, including standard classical repertoire to those of the twentieth century. Her recent research project which emphasizes on the issues and problems of the British composer Michael Tippett has paid tribute to the post-modern music. Born in Taipei, Dr. Ku received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Taipei National University of the Arts, and Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts degrees at Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University where she was awarded as a merit scholarship student under the guidance of the pianist Benjamin Pasternack. In addition, Dr. Ku has worked closely with her mentor Meng-Chieh Liu at Curtis Institute for many years. She is currently an active pianist and chamber musician in San Francisco Bay Area and maintains a private studio in Los Altos. A protégé of the late Maestro William Yannuzzi, musical director of the Baltimore and California Opera companies, Chen has been dedicating herself and talents to assist young and professional instrumental and vocal artists at numerous recitals, music camps, competitions, and concerts in the Bay Area since year Rose Chen Rose Chen earned her bachelor of music degree in piano performance from Soo-Chow University in Taipei, Taiwan. From 2000 to 2004 she received both her Master of Music (2002) and Graduate Performance Diploma (2004) in piano performance from Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. Since moved to bay area in 2004, Ms. Chen s enthusiasm towards performance have leads her to appear in numerous both solo and chamber recitals; and her passion of piano teaching has been deeply appreciated by her students. Raincat Wang Malcolm Gladwell of The Tipping Point fame would call Jinye Raincat Wang a "connector," someone with that special gift of bringing diverse people and ideas together. As the founder of Artch, Inc. and driving force behind countless recitals, concerts and music festivals, Jinye has nurtured and inspired fellow Bay Area music lovers and students for the past three decades. Renowned for her love of music and musicians, Jinye has collaborated with numerous non-profit and arts organizations to develop educational programs, concerts and festivals and is well-known for her ability to bring corporate and non-profit organizations together for the love of music or a deserving cause. Jinye is currently President/CEO of Artch, Inc., a non-profit committed to music education In the past, Jinye has served on various boards, including The Steinway Society (the Bay Area), El Camino Youth Symphony, Asiatic Philharmonic and others, and has worked tirelessly to raise awareness and

4 funds for causes such as post-9/11 and Katrina relief, children with special needs and worked with the U.S. Department of State on a special project for Iraqi children. A Taiwan native, Jinye taught at the Special Music Talented Class at Guang- Ren Elementary School ( 光仁小學音樂班 ) before moving to the U.S. to pursue her M.A. in piano performance. Her students have won a myriad of international and national competitions and then gone on to become doctors, lawyers, Googlers and well-rounded members of society. Usually the coach and/or concert organizer, Jinye is pleased to personally take the stage today. Hsieh Chia-Hao An active percussionist, Chia-Hao Hsieh received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Washington where he studied percussion with Tom Collier. He earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Taipei National University of the Arts. In 1996, he joined the Ju Percussion Group, and has since accumulated over ten years of international touring experience. Hsieh has toured in the U.S., France, Russia, Australia, Japan, China, Korea, Hungary, and performed with numerous artists and ensembles. Dr. Chia-Hao Hsieh regularly presents his percussion recitals in the U.S. and Taiwan. He is currently working on his solo debut CD, Bach on Vibraphone. For more info, visit David Lawrence Ren David Lawrence Ren is an autistic young man. His journey through music and battling autism are two sides of the same coin. When David was four years old, David was diagnosed with autism. David could barely speak; he would not talk to people or even make eye contact with them. He was so disconnected with others he could not put together a four piece puzzle of a human face. To make matters worse, David had very poor muscle tone and could not hold a pencil withouta special grip. In other words, David had no ways to communicate with the world. Doctors said David was at least two years behind normal development, perhaps more. It would be difficult for him to catch up. In spite of all these challenges, David has grown to be active and respected member of the community. Playing the harp helped David through his recovery by connecting him with people.david started playing harp almost eleven years ago. At first his hands were very weak and could not play very loudly. However, he never stopped practicing and working to overcome his weaknesses. David s language delays did not prevent him from becoming personally expressive in his music; even without words, David has been able to reach out and touch others. Lei Huang Lei Huang, age seventeen, is a Junior at Wilcox High School. She has studied under Mr. Daniel Cheng for over ten years. From her childhood, playing piano has been an important part of her daily life. In 2012, she completed the Panel Honor Examination. In 2011, she won the Palo Alto Philharmonic 2011 Concerto Movement Competition and performed with the Palo Alto Philharmonic. Earlier in 2008, she won first alternative in the Music Teacher Association of California Competition. During 2007, Lei earned second place in the Chinese Music Teachers Association of North California Youth Music Competition. At the Almaden Music School Competition in 2005, she claimed first place. She also won the first prize award and the best Chinese music performance award in the Chinese Music Teachers Association of North California Youth Music Competition in Besides playing the piano, Lei is an honor student in school. Her favorite subjects are Japanese and Science. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to contemporary music and playing badminton. Vicky Wang Winner of the Young Artist International Competition, cellist Vicky Wang made her New York debut in 2001 at Carnegie s Weill Recital Hall. Since then, she has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals at numerous major concert halls in the United States, Taiwan, Japan, Italy, and Switzerland. Ms. Wang recently completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree, in which she has explored the lives and legacies of two late-nineteenth-century cellists, Hugo Becker and Julius Klengel. She has studied under the cellists Eleonore Schoenfeld of USC, Zara Nelsova, Joel Krosnick, and Darrett Adkins at the Juilliard School, and Marcy Rosen at City University of New York. Prior to relocating to California, she served on the faculty of Mannes College of Music of New School University and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. She currently maintains an active solo, chamber music performing and teaching schedule in Northern California. She is a teaching artist of summer workshop pianosonoma and is a founding member of C est Bon Chamber Music Academy, a summer chamber music program dedicated to introduce joy of chamber music playing to young musicians. Amy Hsieh Cellist Amy Hsieh made her New York debut recital at Carnegie s Weill Recital Hallin 2002 as a winner of the Artists International New York Debut Award. As an activechamber musician, Ms. Hsieh has performed throughout the United States, Europe andtaiwan and is a founding member of Nuance Chamber Ensemble. Ms. Hsieh received herdoctor of musical Arts degree from Boston University, her master of music degree frommanhattan School of Music, and a bachelor of music degree from The Juilliard School.

5 Ryan Chen Ryan Chen holds a Master Music Diploma Violin Performance from Rueil- Malmaison National Conservatory in Paris, France. While in Paris, He also organized a string quartet and performed regularly at Studio Rasail. Upon his return to Taiwan, he was invited to be the concertmaster of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. He has traveled to Russia, China and other European countries with Taipei Symphony Orchestra. In August of 1996, he left the orchestra to spend more time on chamber music, violin solo performances, and teaching at the Chinese Cultural University as well as in his private studio. In 2002, Mr. Chen relocated to San Jose, CA while he still leads an active life as an educator as well as a performer in the Bay Area. Dr. Liang-Yun You Dr. Liang-Yun You was born in Shanghai, China. She came to the United States in 1991 to study with Mrs. Sedmara Rutstein at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where she earned her Bachelor of Music in 1995 and an Artist Diploma in She continued her studies with Mr. Jerome Lowenthal at the Juilliard School where she earned her Master of Music in Ms. You earned her DMA in Piano Performance while studying with Mrs. Nancy Weems for five years at the Moores School of Music. During her years studying at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Ms. You was the winner of the Arthur Dann Competition as well as the Concerto Competition. While she was studying at the University of Houston, Dr. You was the First-Prize winner of the 2000 TMTA Collegiate Solo Competition and the Moores School of Music Concerto Competition, As an internationally known artist, she has performed as the feature soloist with the Moores School of Music Symphony Orchestra, Symphony North, the Clear Lake Civic Symphony Orchestra, the Baytown Symphony Orchestra, the Oberlin Symphony Orchestra, the Oberlin Civic Orchestra, the Lorain County Community Orchestra, and the Chihuahua State Philharmonic Orchestra in Mexico. As an active soloist in the Houston area she has performed many concerts including the West Side Piano Series at Houston Community College, the Up Close recital series at Lee College, Meet the Artist with the Clear Lake Symphony Society, the Texas Music Festival Piano Institute, the Forum Music Teachers Association, the Young Artist Showcase, as well as various faculty recitals at the Moores School of Music. Ms. You also gives so recitals regularly in the bay area. As an experienced teacher, Dr. You was an Affiliated Artist at Moores School of Music where she taught the graduate level of the Piano Pedagogy Course. In the past eight years, she held the position of Piano faculty as well as the program coordinator of the Preparatory and Continuing Studies at Moores School of Music. Her students won numerous competitions. All of her students have received Distinction marks at The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music every year. Some of her students were accepted as piano majors at universities such as University of Houston, University of Texas-Austin, Southern Methodist University, and New York University. She was also the Vice President at the Forum Music Teachers Association, Houston, Texas. She is currently a member of Music Teachers Association of California. Dr. You is invited yearly to the Xing Hai Conservatory of Music to give lectures and masterclasses. In 2010, she was invited as a faculty member for the Steinway Society Mid- Summer Youth Music Camp. In 2007, she was also featured in the South Bay News of the World Journal (Chinese Newspaper). She is happily living with her cat, Lilly, in San Francisco and enjoys salsa dancing.
