2 S What s mall talk with pillman SPECIAL about our Library Branches? MCLS is a countywide library system consisting of 5 branches and a Main Library. I ve found that many of our patrons visit multiple branches but they also have their favorite branch. Now, I could no more choose my favorite branch than I could a favorite child; although, frankly some days it would be easier than others! All of our branches have stellar staff which plays a big part in selecting the favorite branch status no doubt, but this is more of a nod to our unique facilities. I d like to take you on a quick journey around the county. Let s start in the northern end and visit the... Dresden Library Branch Renovated in January 2017, this branch offers a warm, delightful environment for readers of all ages, a colorful and dynamic children s space and a spot just for teens. Soon to come this fall: Through a collaboration with the Dresden mayor, the city, plus the Library the adjacent park is transforming into a beautiful gathering space with flowers, grass, benches, outlets, free wifi, and a stage for library and musical performances. We can t wait! New Concord Library Branch A deep, immersive history follows this branch surrounded by an elementary school, a large park, Muskingum University, and with its lovely stone exterior it appropriately sets the educational atmosphere for learning, reading, creating, and discovery as one of the first buildings you see within New Concord. South Zanesville Library Branch Drive-thru, Drive-thru, Drive-thru! Need I say more? If you don t have time to get out of your car to grab your books, no worries at all! Just drive up to the window and staff will assist you from your car. Now that s convenience! Roseville Library Branch Centered directly in the heart of the city, this branch is a beacon of light for the community. It s small, but mighty with free wifi, engaging programs, paperback romances and dvd s galore! Duncan Falls/Philo Library Branch A back porch at a library branch? Experience the joys of reading outside whilst rocking in a rocking chair or sitting at a picnic table and listening to the flowing river beyond. A very relaxing experience in a peaceful and unforgettable setting! I d love to hear which Library Branch is your favorite and why. Please feel free to send me an or call and share your experiences. Happy Thanksgiving, Jennifer Spillman jspillman@muskingumlibrary.org ext. 129 SALE Buck-A-Bag of Books Sale Saturday, December 2, :30 am ~ 12:00 pm The Friends of the MCLS welcome you to their annual sale of gently used books and more - all for $1.00 a bag!
