Saying it was long overdue is an understatement. But TAXI has always been, and will always be a music company first and foremost. Our members success is the priority around these hallowed halls. While other companies built slick websites, we invested our time and resources in bringing you the best possible opportunities for your music. The number of TAXI members who have signed deals and earned income because of their TAXI memberships is virtually uncountable after 25 years. Yes, that s how long we ve been bringing you about 100 real opportunities per month for your music 25 years! We ve changed a lot of lives during those years. Some of our members have been able to quit their day jobs because of TAXI. Some of our members earn six-figure incomes because of connections made and relationships built through TAXI. Look, I get it. The business can be disheartening, to say the least. BUT... LISTEN to what you read in the [TAXI] forums and hear on Taxi TV. Listen to the advice that is so abundant. Go to the [TAXI] Rally and listen to the lectures. This stuff works, trust me! And above all, listen to the feedback on your returned submissions. It is GOLD! In I had written maybe 3 instrumental cues and a ton of songs that were not really going anywhere. I started focusing on a few things based on advice from the forums, feedback from submissions, etc. I refocused and started writing -- a lot! By the end of 2016, I had written over 150 instrumental cues (from hybrid orchestral to minimal retro wave). I have had 130+ of those cues signed to various libraries around the world (12 of them, in fact). 10 of these libraries came directly from Taxi listings! And best of all, I have a recurring buyout-deal with a library that keeps ordering albums. I wrote 4 10-track albums in 2016 just for this one library that does buyout deals. So, the end result is that I made more money off my music in 2016 than the previous 10 years combined. And let's talk about the long game we always hear about. I'm JUST NOW starting to see a lot of the TV placements showing up from early 2016 and even late As it turns out, I've got 19 TV placements on 8 different series - and EVERY ONE of those is from libraries I hooked up with via Taxi. I imagine in 2017 and later I'll see a lot more as these buyout albums start showing up on my ASCAP statements as well. Bottom line - don't give up. Keep submitting. Keep writing. Submit often, embrace rejection and learn from it. And for God's sake, DO NOT cancel your Taxi membership. It is the vehicle that will get you where you want to go, as long as you listen to the advice of the driver. Christian listings, etc.) CONTEMPORARY COUNTRY SONGS with Male Vocals are needed by a Nashville-based Music Publisher that s pitching to a huge, Award-Winning Country duo that s working on a brand new album. Please submit radio-friendly, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that you d hear on the same playlist as artists like: Florida Georgia Line, Brothers Osborne, Old Dominion, etc., etc., etc. Please review the following references he gave us to get a general idea of the type of songs he needs: Confession Florida Georgia Line: Stay A Little Longer by Brothers Osborne: Snapback by Old Dominion: Please submit Songs that have a well-developed melodic structure, big commercial hooks, and a chorus that s instantly engaging. The older your recordings are, the better they ll like them. The Publisher pays you an upfront fee for the master and composition rights. You ll keep the Writer s share of the Publishing and make applicable income through your P.R.O. This company often averages several placements per week, and many of those are TAXI members who ve been signed with this company because they submitted to a listing like this! Dozens of TAXI members have signed buy out, cash-up-front deals with this company. Several have even received up front checks for $10,000 - $15,000 (or more!) They need music that can range from Jazzy Spy Movie music to what would have played in clubs where they had go-go dancers with mini skirts dancing in cages. Please submit commercial-friendly, Down-to-Mid-Tempo Instrumentals that would generally be in the style and vibe of these references: Unfaithful by Rhianna: Hello by Adele: Chandelier by Sia: Although the references above have vocals, this pitch is for instrumentals only. Please submit well-crafted Instrumentals that are compelling from start to finish, with instrumentation that s typically heard in a radio-friendly Adult Contemporary song. Your instrumentation should use some natural/real/organic instruments. However, if you sample libraries or virtual instruments, please be sure that they sound incredibly natural and real. Nothing stiff or obviously MIDI-driven will work for this pitch. TAXI Tip: About half of Adult Contemporary songs are about relationships that went down to the drain. Those songs are often in minor keys and sound negative or somewhat depressing. Because this Instrumental is needed for a Radio Commercial, we d suggest going with tracks that sound positive and/or emotionally uplifting. This piece is probably needed for a retirement style commercial for the bank, so try to imagine what would sound good under a voiceover asking if you ve got your retirement covered. A/C that would appeal to a fifty-something audience/demographic is probably a good bet! Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length.
