Installatin Prerequisites Befre beginning the installatin, it is imprtant t determine the hardware and sftware requirements necessary fr Marquee Manager Vide Server t run efficiently. Review the fllwing prerequisite list befre the vide server is installed. 13 Cnnectin Cnnecting the Cmpnents Befre cnnecting the varius cmpnents t the Vide Server, it must first be munted t the display being used (LCD, Prjectr). The fllwing are the minimum cmpnents required t be cnnected befre using the Vide Server: Cnnect the AC Pwer t the back f the unit Plug in the RJ45 Ethernet Cnnectr Cnnect the display that is being used. The Vide Server supprts three cnnectin methds: DVI cnnectr if the display is DVI cmpatible. HDMI t DVI cable is required fr this type f cnnectr. HDMI cnnectr if the display uses HDMI. VGA cnnectr if the display is VGA cmpatible. Assign a unique TCP/IP address fr each Vide Server being used. This requires the keybard/muse cnnectr t be plugged in. Page 13 f 29

Cnfiguratin Cnfiguring the Vide Server Once all hardware cmpnents have been cnnected, the IP address f the Vide Server must be cnfigured as well as display prperties and screen reslutin details fr each Vide Server. Steps t cnfigure the IP address: 1. When the Vide Server has been pwered n, and the default template is displayed, push the ESC key t shut dwn the SeQent Client Mnitr and the SeQent VideServer Emulatr. 2. Ctrl+Alt+Delete will pen the Task Manager. On the Applicatins tab, click the New Task buttn and in the Open: field, type explrer then click OK and clse Windws Task Manager. This will launch Windws Explrer. 3. Expand My Cmputer, then select Cntrl Panel. Duble click n Netwrk Cnnectins. 4. Select the Lcal Area Cnnectin then right-click the Prperties buttn. Select Internet Prtcl (TCP/IP) then click the Prperties buttn. (be sure t select this item in the list and DO NOT select Micrsft TCP/IP versin 6 item) Page 15 f 29

16 Marquee Manager Vide Server V9 5. In the Internet Prtcl (TCP/IP) Prperties screen, select Use the fllwing IP address. 6. Enter a valid unique IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway fr the Vide Server. 7. Click the OK buttn t save changes. 8. The display prperties and reslutin can nw be set fr each Vide Server. 17 Cnfiguratin Steps t cnfigure display prperties: 1. Once the Vide Server IP address has been cnfigured, display settings can nw be cnfigured while in Cntrl Panel. 2. Select Intel GMA Driver fr Mbile ptin in Cntrl Panel. Single VGA Display 1. On the Display Devices tab, select Mnitr fr VGA displays. (If nly a VGA display is being used, Digital Televisin will nt shw up as an ptin). 2. Click OK t accept all settings. Single HDMI Display 1. On the Display Devices tab, select Digital Televisin fr HDMI displays. (If nly an HDMI display is being used, the Mnitr display will nt shw up as an ptin). Page 17 f 29

18 Marquee Manager Vide Server V9 2. Click OK t accept all settings. Multiple Displays 1. If the displays are HDMI and VGA, select Intel Dual Display Clne frm the Multiple Display sectin f the screen. Page 18 f 29

19 Cnfiguratin 2. Select the Primary Device. This will be the Digital Televisin (this is the display where the bis infrmatin will be displayed) and the Secndary Device will be the Mnitr ptin. 3. Click OK t accept all settings. Page 19 f 29

20 Marquee Manager Vide Server V9 Steps t cnfigure screen reslutin: 1. T set screen reslutin, frm Cntrl Panel click Display then select the Settings tab. The fllwing screen is displayed: 2. If the display type is HDMI, select Default Mnitr frm the Display field. If the display type is VGA, select Plug and Play frm the Display field. 3. Adjust the vide prperties t best match yur display. 21 Cnfiguratin 4. Click OK t accept the display prperties changes. 5. Be sure t rebt the Vide Server. Select Start Shutdwn Restart. This will autmatically restart the SeQent VideServer Emulatr and SeQent Client Mnitr. 6. The Vide Server Cnfiguratin Editr can nw be pened fr template and server cnfiguratin. Refer t Chapter 3 entitled Cnfiguratin in the Marquee Manager Vide Server Cnfiguratin Editr V9.00 manual t add the Vide Server server and define templates that will be used in Marquee Manager Administratr. 22 Marquee Manager Vide Server V9 Appendix A Remte Management In the event that the Vide Server must be managed remtely, users may use a remte desktp prgram t update/make changes. (i.e. a new IP address must be cnfigured) The fllwing is the required infrmatin t successfully cnnect t the Vide Server fr remte administratin: Username = SeQentAdmin Passwrd = seqents14 OR Username = Administratr Passwrd = seqents14 This imprtant t be able t trublesht the currently running sessin n the VS and view any errrs, running prcesses, memry usage, etc. Lgging in with any ther accunt will kill the current sessin and this vital trubleshting infrmatin will be lst. Ntes n Remte Management 1) Accunt behavir upn lgin a. If yu lg in with the Administratr accunt yu will "see" what was n the bard at the time yu cnnected int the cmputer and everything will cntinue t perate as per nrmal. If yu press the <ESC> key yu will see a White backgrund with SeQent lg in the middle f the screen. b. If yu lg in with the SeQentAdmin accunt, the existing sessin will be lgged ut and yu will be lgged int a new sessin. All errr messages, statistics, etc. will be cleared. If yu press the <ESC> key yu will see a Black backgrund with SeQent lg in the middle f the screen 2) Clsing the Remte Desktp Sessin withut lgging ut a. The TV/Display/Sign/Bard/Mnitr that will shw a blank screen with a dialgue bx in the middle stating that "The cmputer is in use and has been lcked. Only cmputername\accuntname r an Administratr can unlck this cmputer. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del t unlck this cmputer." 3) Lgging ut frm a Remte Desktp Sessin a. The TV/Display/Sign/Bard/Mnitr that will shw a blank screen with a dialgue bx in the middle stating that "The cmputer is in use and has been lcked. Only cmputername\accuntname r an Administratr can unlck this cmputer. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del t unlck this cmputer. 4) Rebting the VideServer Page 22 f 29

23 Cnfiguratin a. The TV/Display/Sign/Bard/Mnitr will restart and display the VideServer Emulatr with the last upladed prject template, returning it t nrmal perating parameters. If a cnnectin t the cnfigured Marquee Manager Server cannt be established, the cnnectin errr message as defined in the prject settings f the cnfiguratin editr will display n the screen. Page 23 f 29
