1 Stephen Graham Bird Award The Stephen Graham Bird Award is designed t recgnize and encurage New Brunswick students wh have demnstrated exceptinal talent and ptential, and wh are pursuing a career in the theatre. The Stephen Graham Bird Award is fr full-time study. Objectives T assist New Brunswick students wh intend t pursue, r are presently pursuing, a career in theatre as a prfessinal. T increase the number f prfessinal theatre artists in New Brunswick. T encurage the develpment f New Brunswick talent in theatre arts. Eligibility T be eligible fr cnsideratin an applicant must intend t pursue, r be currently pursuing, full-time studies at a recgnized institutin, at an undergraduate level r prfessinal training prgram, fr the purpse f pursuing a career as a prfessinal theatre artist. This career may be in acting, in directing, r in playwriting. Only New Brunswick residents are eligible t receive funding. A resident is defined as a Canadian citizen r permanent resident wh has resided in New Brunswick fr at least ne year immediately preceding the applicatin deadline. Level f Funding One award in the amunt f $3,000 will be awarded per annum. An individual may receive up t a maximum f 4 awards, which must be applied fr annually. The award will be paid as fllws: 70% f the ttal will be sent t yu upn receipt by the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin f fficial cnfirmatin f enrllment, which shuld be sent directly t the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin by the educatinal institutin. The remaining 30% will be sent in the secnd term, nly after the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin has received an fficial dcument frm the institutin that yu are attending, cnfirming yu are cntinuing the studies, as prpsed in yur applicatin, fr the secnd term. Please nte that it is the student s respnsibility t cntact the educatinal institutin in rder t have them send cnfirmatin f enrllment directly t the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin. Applicants wh d nt cmplete the studies fr which the award was given will be required t reimburse a prtin, r the ttal, f the amunt received. The amunt t be reimbursed will be determined by the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin.

2 Hw t Apply Applicatin Deadline: June 3, It is the respnsibility f each applicant t ensure that all materials required t cmplete his/her file are pstmarked r received by the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin the deadline f the cmpetitin. These materials cannt be returned t the applicant. A cmplete applicatin must include the fllwing: An applicatin frm, duly cmpleted, and Supprt material: 1. Official transcript f marks/credits (full-time and part-time studies) frm high schl r university the mst recent available at time f applicatin. 2. Phtcpy f the prgram and tuitin fees as prvided by the institutin the applicant is planning n attending. 3. Resumé/CV, including educatinal backgrund, wrk experience r perfrmances, and any achievements r awards pertaining t the applicatin. 4. Tw letters f recmmendatin. 5. A perfrmance applicant must include a USB r DVD f a perfrmance r mnlgue. *Micrsft Windws cmpatible vide files nly 6. Typed letter t the jury utlining the prfessinal career plans f the applicant. Applicants are encuraged t cntact the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin ffice with any questins abut the regulatins. Evaluatin Prcess Applicatins received are first reviewed by the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin t cnfirm eligibility. Only thse applicatins that are cmpleted in the prescribed time frame and meet the criteria are submitted t the jury. Eligible applicatins are evaluated by a jury cmpsed f ne bard member f the Theatre New Brunswick Fundatin, ne member f the Bard f Theatre New Brunswick, and ne theatre prfessinal. Ntificatin r Results Applicants will be ntified f the results by mail, apprximately 6 weeks after the cmpetitin deadline. Results will nt be released ver the telephne.
