Tuesday 21 August 1:00pm Dydd Mawrth 21 Awst Children s Concert - Cyngerdd y Plant Sophie Daneman Soprano Philip Smith Baritone Dominic Harlan Piano Stories and songs for those aged 7, 21 and 93. An interactive concert devised, directed and presented by Dominic Harlan, with soprano Sophie Daneman and baritone Philip Smith. With music by Ives, Schubert, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Hahn and Dominic Harlan. Storïau a chaneuon i bobl 7, 21 a 93 oed. Working without a traditional rhythm section, Brass Jaw creates a performance that is truly unique in sound and direction, revealing a group that is able to adapt to almost any performance environment. Songs from the North Christianne Stotijn Mezzo-Soprano Julius Drake Piano The wonderfully gifted Christianne Stotijn returns to the Machynlleth Festival. Since her last visit in 2008 her disc of Tchaikovsky s Romances with Julius Drake won the BBC Music Magazine s Vocal Recital Disc of the Year. Rachmaninov Romances Mussorgsky The Nursery Grieg Haugtussa op 67 Friday 24 August 1:00pm Dydd Gwener 24 Awst Gwobr Glyndŵr Award Welsh conductor and musicologist David Russell Hulme is this year s recipient of the Glyndŵr Award for an Outstanding Contribution to the Arts in Wales. Presented by Professor April McMahon, Vice-Chancellor Aberystwyth University.
