6 INTRODUCTION AIR HEATER Operatio Geral The uit blows currts of warm air dowwards. The airflow rate sures that the warm air is spread over a large area. Depdig o the settig, the uit ca also blow uheated air. Depdig o the implemtatio, the uit ca also vtilate ad/or cool. The automatic CHIPS cotrol Depdig o the implemtatio, the uit may be equipped with a automatic CHIPS cotrol. The CHIPS cotrol automatically adjusts the strgth ad heat of the uit to chagig weather coditios. Thus, i all situatios the ergy loss is miimal ad the comfort maximal. CHIPS stads for Corrective Heat ad Impulse Predictio System. Cotrol wh uit o For the most efficit effect, it is importat that the airflow just touches the floor ad is heated sufficitly. The uit cotiuously measures the values that are eeded i order to achieve this: 1. The istallatio height (tered i the cotrol pael) 2. The room temperature 3. The temperature of the discharged air As soo as the situatio chages, the cotrol adjusts the outlet flow rate ad the temperature of the airflow to that. Cotrol with uit off Ev wh it is off, the uit ca still perform other fuctios: The uit ca be set to keep the room at a miimal ight temperature. 12 INTRODUCTION AIR HEATER Safety issues relatig to istallatio, maitace ad servicig w Warig: Mout the uit so that the uderside hags at least 2.8 m above the floor. It should ot be possible to reach the ozzles without the use of mechaical aids. d Dager: The uit may oly be oped by qualified techical staff. w Warig: Perform the followig actios before opig the uit: 1. Switch the uit off,usig the cotrol pael. 2. Wait util the fa has stopped. d Dager: The fa may cotiue rotatig for a while. 3. Allow the uit to cool dow. c Cautio: The heat exchager or, as the case may be, the heatig elemts, ca get very hot. 4. Discoect the mais supply (switch off the isolatio switch). 5. If you are goig to carry out maitace or repairs o electrical compots: switch the mais supply group off. 6. For water-heated models: shut off the ctral heatig feed (if possible). w Warig: The fis of the heat exchager are sharp. -12

13 2.. Istallatio w Warig: Istallatio activities may oly be performed by techical staff qualified for this purpose. w Warig: Before startig istallatio: read the safety istructios. Notify the driver ad the supplier immediately if ay shippig damage is detected. Esure that all compots are prest. Notify supplier of ay missig parts immediately. Istall accessories, if applicable. 3. Hag the uit up. 4. For models with water-heatig /-coolig (type H, C ad HC): coect the uit to the ctral heatig system. 5. Coect the uit to the mais supply. Switch the mais supply o ad check that the uit is workig properly. Geral istructios Some parts of this sectio oly apply to certai models. Where this is the case, it will be idicated. If o specific model is referred to, th the descriptio applies to all models. Make sure that you perform all istallatio operatios that are applicable to your uit. Check the type plate ad cosult the maual if i doubt about the model or type of your uit. Durig the istallatio period, protect the uit agaist damage ad petratio of dust, cemt, etc. You ca, for istace, use the packagig for protectio. See also: "Type plate" o page Determiig the locatio of the uit Make sure that the structure from which the uit is about to be suspded ca bear at least 4 times the weight of the uit. I the case of multiple uits, where the water valve must be coected i series, you are advised to hag the uit with the cotrol circuit board (type Auto) i the middle. 16 INSTALLATION AIR HEATER 1. Make a hole i the roof. 2. Make a curb 1 aroud the hole. 3. Fit roof coverig over the curb. 4. Remove the top 3 of the roof cowl by loosig the bolts. 5. Place the roof cowl over the curb. 6. Usig screws, attach the cowl to the curb, as i Mout the top 3 oto the roof cowl. 8. Seal all cracks betwe the roof cowl ad the roof with a draught-free ad leak-proof fiish. 2.5 Hagig the uit up Detachig the ilet grille If you are makig use of vtilatio accessories, oly for uits without heatig (type A), you must first remove the ilet grille. c Cautio: I all other cases, do NOT remove the ilet grille. 1. Remove the screws aroud the ilet grille Remove the ilet grille. -16

17 NOZ2 MANUAL INSTALLATION Hagig the uit up 1. If you are usig the suspsio frame (accessory): - Attach the suspsio frame. If you are ot usig a suspsio frame: - Isert four threaded rods. Make sure that the threaded rods are hagig perpdicularly. Dimsios for suspdig from threaded rods distace betwe threaded rods 2. Oto each threaded rod, screw two bolts a few ctimetres apart. 3. Hag the uit from the threaded rods: NOZ 2 25 NOZ x 640 mm 935 x 865 mm screw thread M8 M8 - Hook the threaded rods with the lowest set of bolts i the key holes o the top of the uit. - Iterally, there is a lockig edge uder every keyhole. The bolts must lock i place behid these. 4. Secure the uit by tightig the top bolts agaist the platig. w Warig: The suspded uit must be secured. Maual versio 7.0 ( ) -17

18 INSTALLATION AIR HEATER Moutig the filter module (accessory) The uit ca be fitted with a filter module. The sectio ca be mouted o the uit or o a damper module. The illustratios alogside the istructios are based o the moutig to the uit. The actios required for moutig to a damper module are the same as this. 1. Place the flage 1 of the filter module over the flage 2 of the uit. c Cautio: Positio the filter module i relatio to the uit as idicated i the illustratio. If the module is positioed i a differt directio, cables ca become piched off. 2. Attach the flages together, usig 12 screws Moutig the damper module (accessory) The uit ca be equipped with a damper module. With this, a coectio to a vtilatio duct ca be oped ad closed. The damper module is supplied i two variats: a 1-way module (oly suitable for vtilatio), ad a 3-way module (suitable for vtilatio ad recirculatio). The damper module ca be mouted o the uit or o a filter module. The illustratios alogside the istructios are based o the moutig of a 3-way damper module o a filter module. The actios required for the moutig of a 1-way damper module to the uit are the same as this. 1. Place the flage 1 of the damper module over the flage 2 of the uit. 2. Attach the flages together usig 12 screws Coect the servomotor i accordace with the electrical diagram supplied. -18

19 NOZ2 MANUAL INSTALLATION Istallig the vtilatio ducts (accessories) If the uit is used for vtilatio, you ca optioally istall a vtilatio duct. 1. Place the itercoectig duct 1 over the flage 2 of the uit or the damper module. 2. Attach the itercoectig duct to the flage, usig 12 screws Moutig the uit to the roof cowl c Cautio: The uit caot be suspded from the roof cowl. Oe must always make use of a suspsio costructio, such as a suspsio frame, for example. 1. Determie the height at which the uit must hag, ad if ecessary, attach a chael sectio of the correct lgth to the roof cowl. 2. Brig the uit to the correct height, so that the flage 1 comes withi the rim of the roof cowl Attach the roof cowl to the flage, usig 12 screws. 20 INSTALLATION AIR HEATER 2.6 Regulatig the discharge directio Adjust the ozzles to the agle which produces the most optimal effect of the uit for the situatio. For this purpose, the ozzles are equipped with a ball-ad-socket joit. The optimal agle of the ozzles depds o the moutig height of the uit, o the floor surface area to be reached ad o the fuctio of the uit. 1. Determie the diameter (D) of the floor surface area that must be reached; 2. Measure the moutig height (H) of the uit. This is the distace betwe the floor ad the uderside of the uit; 3. From the table, read out the agle (α) at which the ozzles must be set; This is the optimal agle for heatig. For coolig, use a smaller agle or direct the ozzles to those places where cool air is desired. For the NOZ 2 25, oly the sectio of the table prited i bold type is applicable. Nozzle agle D [m] H [m]

21 NOZ2 MANUAL INSTALLATION 4. Sip off the adjustmt aid 1 (supplied) alog the dotted lie which correspods to the correct agle (α); 5. Hold the sipped-off adjustmt aid 1 agaist the uit ad tur the ozzle 2 agaist the uderside of the adjustmt aid; c Cautio: Do ot aim the ozzles at walls or other obstacles (such as scaffoldig). If a ozzle is uavoidably aimed at a obstacle, you ca close off the ozzle with a cap. You ca close a maximum of 2 ozzles. A set of 2 caps is available as a accessory. 6. Repeat step 5 for all ozzles. For models with automatic CHIPS cotrol: Note dow the ozzle agle (α) ad the moutig height (H) (i metres). For optimal operatio of the automatic regulatio, these values must be tered durig the istallatio of the cotrol uit. 2.7 Coectig the uit to the ctral heatig ad heat recovery system Special poits regardig the water coectio The ctral heatig system s supply ad retur pipes must be attached to the correct correspodig coectors. O the uit, the directios are idicated with arrows. 22 INSTALLATION AIR HEATER d Dager: Take measures to limit the discharge temperature. Take accout of the critical discharge temperatures ad water flow-paths. The applicatio limits for this are show i sectio Field of applicatio. The ctral heatig system must be fitted with a overpressure cut-out with a iitial pressure ot exceedig the permitted pressure of the uit. This is show o the type plate at P max. Make sure that the ctral heatig system has sufficit capacity The water-side cotrol (accessory) The uit is equipped with a water-side cotrol. This regulates the water supply to the heat exchager, so that a costat discharge temperature is achieved. The cotrol ca also be used to limit the discharge temperature. The maximum permitted discharge temperature is idicated i Field of applicatio. For models with automatic CHIPS cotrol, this limitatio is automatically set. I a assembly with automatic CHIPS cotrol, the water-side cotrol valve is automatically closed by default if the uit ad/or the heatig is switched off. Special poits regardig the water-side cotrol Biddle supplies water-side cotrols for models with automatic CHIPS cotrol. Cautio: c A maximum of 5 uits havig a cotrol valve ca be coected i series per cotrol circuit board. 23 NOZ2 MANUAL INSTALLATION Cotrol valves that are ot supplied by Biddle must, i ay case, comply with the followig: 24V power supply. 0-10V cotrol. The total power cosumptio of the water-side cotrols that are coected to 1 cotrol circuit board may be a maximum of 7.6 VA. Coectig the water-side cotrol For models with automatic CHIPS cotrol: 1. Coect the cotrol valve ad the drive to the heat exchager, i accordace with the diagram. I doig so, follow the istructios giv i the cotrol valve maual. Esure that the axis of the valve is i the correct positio wh coectig the drive. See the cotrol valve maual. WIRING DIAGRAM 2-WAY VALVE WIRING DIAGRAM 3-WAY VALVE 2. Op the electroics housig: udo screws 1 at the bottom of the housig, tilt the cover 2 ad lift the cover off the uit. Maual versio 7.0 ( ) -23

24 INSTALLATION AIR HEATER 3. Coect the cord to the drive, i accordace with the wirig diagram. Use a cable of at least 0.5 mm Feed the cord from the drive through the opigs i the electroics housig. 5. Coect the cord to the cotrol circuit board, i accordace with the wirig diagram: For models with recirculatio: Use coectio X67 6. For models with vtilatio: Use coectio X For models with recirculatio: Coect (if applicable) the drive amog multiple uits. Lik the uits, usig a coectig cable, to coectios X676. Models with vtilatio (types 25V ad 50V) are always equipped with a cotrol circuit board. With each uit, coect the drive of the water valve to the uit s ow cotrol circuit board. Oly close the electroics housig after coectig the mais supply ad the cotrol uit ad possible exteral cotrols. For models with a basic cotrol: For models with a basic cotrol, a capillary valve (ot supplied) ca be coected. 1. Coect the valve ad the cotrol elemt to the heat exchager. I doig so, follow the istructios giv i the cotrol valve maual. 2. Op the electroics housig: udo screws 3 at the bottom of the housig, tilt the cover 4 ad lift the cover off the uit. -24

25 NOZ2 MANUAL INSTALLATION 3. Remove the bracket 5 from the hole i the rear wall of the housig: udo the screws 6 ad push the bracket out of the housig. 4. Lead the capillary tube 7 through the hole 8i the electroics housig. For this purpose, the grommet i the hole is provided with a opig. If ecessary, twist the grommet with the opig upwards. 5. Lead the ssor 9 with the capillary tube through the opig 0 i the bracket. 6. Click the ssor 9 ito the clamp o the bracket. 7. Place the clamp back i the rear wall of the housig ad fast the screws. w Warig: The capillary tube must ot make cotact with elemts carryig a voltage. Keep ay superfluous lgth of the capillary tube outside the housig of the electroics. 8. Set the cotrol elemt to the desired temperature. Oly close the electroics housig after coectig the mais supply ad the cotrol uit ad possible exteral cotrols. 26 INSTALLATION AIR HEATER Frost protectio For models with automatic CHIPS cotrol (Auto type) The electroic cotrol features itegrated frost protectio. This works i two stages: 1. If the temperature of the discharged air falls to below 5 ºC ad the temperature of the itake air falls below 8 ºC: - the valve of the itegral water-side cotrol will op fully; - the output o the uit gives a sigal for the ctral heatig istallatio provided that fuctio 61. Fuctio of outputs o the cotrol pael is set to Risk of freezig. 2. If the temperature of the discharged air falls to below 2 ºC ad the temperature of the itake falls below 8 ºC: - the cotrol pael will temporarily display error message E6; - the fas will be switched off, but the valve of the waterside cotrol will stay op. c Cautio: The frost protectio reduces the risk of freezig but does ot guaratee complete protectio. Take the followig precautios if you istall the uit i a room where frost may occur: - Esure costat circulatio of the water at the right temperature; - Add up to 50% glycol to the water wh the uit is ot i operatio durig the witertime; - Or bleed the system ad the uit. For vtilatio models with basic cotrol (type NOZ2 V-Basic) The uit is fitted with a frost thermostat which is activated if the temperature of the discharged air falls to below 6 ºC. This ca be itegrated ito its ow cotrol Coectig the uit 1. Coect the uit to the ctral heatig system. 2. Check the coectios for leakage. -26

27 NOZ2 MANUAL INSTALLATION 2.8 Istallig codsate drai Oly for uits used for coolig (type C6 ad HC6) The coolig of the air ca cause codsatio. The uit is fitted with a drai tray to catch codsatio water. The water ca be draied away i two ways: atural discharge oly codsate pump (accessory) 1. Costruct a draiage system. Pay atttio to the followig istallatio criteria: - Make sure the draiage pipe has a drop of at least 1:50. - If applyig a codsate pump, cosult your Biddle adviser about the istallatio regulatios for the pump. - Fit the draiage pipe with a trap with dimsios as show i the illustratio. Fill this with water before the uit is used for the first time. c Cautio: The trap must always be filled with water. 2. Wirig A twisted-pair cable must be used for coectio to the Modbus system. The cable must also have a third core for the GND (groudig). Normally, a four-pole, twisted-pair cable is used; oe pair is used for commuicatio ad oe core from the other pair is used as the GND. Modbus A = - Modbus B = + GND = groud If there is o commuicatio, this may be caused by icorrectly coected wirig. Swap the A- ad B+ wires. -40

For a more reliable sigal, it is possible to coect a 120 Ohm resistor. For this purpose, place a bridge betwe positios 1 ad B of termial X382 o the cotrol circuit board i the uit. The b-touch cotrol pael is o loger ecessary for purposes of operatio. After you have goe through the istallatio guide, it ca be removed. Optioal: Lock the cotrol pael with the screw o the uderside. Durig the first start-up, the istallatio guide is iitiated. Go through this i order to make the most ecessary settigs. If the istallatio guide is ot displayed, it ca be started via mu > Maitace > Istallatio. If the cotrol pael does ot work, or if the display shows a error message, there is a error: cosult the relevat sectio. The settigs of the b-touch cotrol pael ca be copied to aother b-touch cotrol pael. See 7.9 Copyig the settigs. After istallatio, the cotrol pael may possibly be removed. Feel whether the discharged air stream becomes warm. This may take some time ad is depdt o the eed for heatig. 5. Vt the heat exchager. 6. Adjust the uit o the water side: c Cautio: For models with basic cotrol (type Basic) without applicatio of water-side cotrol: Esure that at the lowest fa speed the maximum discharge temperature is ot exceeded. The most optimal speed is the miimum strgth at which the airflow touches the groud ad there is o draught across the groud. This may vary per day ad durig the course of the day. If the uit is o, the scre will become darker after some time, i order to save ergy. Wh the scre is touched, it lights up agai. This fuctio caot be deactivated. If the uit is switched off, the scre will go black after some time. Touch the scre to activate it agai. The uit ca also be switched ON ad OFF i other ways: Usig exteral cotrols (see fuctio 60. Fuctio of iputs). Via the iteral timer or via a exteral release sigal o the uit. I these cases, the ON/OFF butto ca be hidd via Cofiguratio > 21. User iterface optios > Display o/off butto The CHIPS cotrol By default, the uit operates with fully automatic cotrol. Depdig o the selected settigs, the uit ca also be cotrolled maually. I automatic mode, the uit operates uder CHIPS cotrol. This cotrol matches the strgth ad heat of the uit to chagig weather coditios. This reduces ergy cosumptio ad improves comfort through selectio of the optimum settig uder all circumstaces. CHIPS stads for Corrective Heat ad Impulse Predictio System.The uit works o the basis of the room temperature ad the temperature of the discharged air ear the uit Automatic or maual cotrol The uit has a automatic mode ad a maual mode. Maual settig of the strgth With the maual settig, you ca select the strgth. To achieve maximum comfort with miimum ergy cosumptio, Biddle recommds selectig the lowest strgth at which the airflow touches the groud. This settig may possibly eed to be chaged durig the course of the day Required room temperature You ca set the temperature to a comfortable level. This is the temperature ear the room ssor. With uits that ca both heat ad cool (type HC6): Prior to temperature alteratios, specify which set poit is to be adjusted. To do so, use the temperature buttos: red: set poit heatig blue: set poit coolig The other set poit shifts together automatically, with a fixed temperature differce. Fuctio of iputs, settig Heatig off; wh the room temperature is higher tha the settig of fuctio 41. Heatig OFF temperature. Cleaig the display The scre ca be cleaed usig a damp, soft cloth. Use this fuctio to disable the touch scre for 20 secods i order to be able to clea it. Timer The b-touch cotrol pael has a week timer. You ca set two start ad stop times for each day of the week. The uit is o betwe the start time ad the stop time. The secod start ad stop times are optioal. Wh the ON/OFF butto is displayed o the scre, the uit ca also be switched ON or OFF maually. Choose your preferred laguage from the list. Set date ad time The date ad time are ecessary for the timer fuctio, ad for trackig usage statistics regardig the uit. The automatic summer time fuctio switches the clock to summer or witer time i accordace with the applicable Europea rules. If you do ot use this fuctio, you ca switch to summer time maually. The display of these tips ca be abled or disabled. 4.5 Settigs The Settigs mu allows you to ter settigs which ifluce the day-to-day use of the uit. 1. This bad width, added to the room temperature, is the set poit for the coolig fuctio. 6. Miimum air temperature Set the miimum differce betwe the room temperature ad the discharge temperature. This differce ca be icreased for more comfort. A smaller differce saves ergy. The uit ca use cool fresh air to lower the room temperature. 7. Miimum air temperature, coolig Oly with uits which offer coolig I order to icrease the level of comfort, a miimum discharge temperature for coolig ca be set. 8. Night temperature The ight temperature is used wh the uit is switched off. Wh the room temperature drops below this set value, the uit will start workig i order to keep the room at the ight temperature. Usually, this mu is used oly for istallatio, maitace ad service purposes. 20. Access cotrol Pi code Access to the tire cotrol pael or to the mu oly ca be protected with a four-digit PIN code. The default PIN code is Access level The cotrol pael ca be safeguarded at differt access levels. 21. User iterface optios Display o/off butto The uit ca be switched ON ad OFF maually. Deceleratio time You ca set a post-rotatio time for the fa. Here, set the period of time it should take for the fa to decelerate from maximum speed to stadstill. 33. Boost fuctio If there is a great differce betwe the desired room temperature ad the actual room temperature, the fa speed ca be icreased i order to reach the desired temperature more quickly. The discharge temperature is limited to 50 C. For uits with water heatig: If the heatig capacity is too low, check the supply ad retur water temperatures ad the water flow. -60

The fas will start rotatig at the highest speed; 3. Check whether the discharged air is cold; It may take some time before the valve reaches the adjusted opig perctage. 4. Repeat steps 1 ad 2 for the perctages 50% ad 100% as well. I doig so, check whether the discharged air gets warmer per step. Istallatio This istallatio guide leads you through the most frequtly required settigs. The istallatio guide is started up automatically durig the first start-up of the uit or after the resettig of the factory cofiguratio. Uit code For terig the uit code after replacemt of the cotrol circuit board i a uit. 67 NOZ2 MANUAL ERRORS 5.3 Remedyig errors that are accompaied by a error message For models with b-touch cotrol pael: Try to remedy errors that are accompaied by a error message, makig use of the error codes table. Techical expertise is required for this. CODE PROBABLE CAUSE WHAT TO DO E1 E2 E6 The cotrol pael does ot commuicate with oe or more coected uits. This error may occur: wh a coected uit is removed or replaced, due to a brief error i the power supply of a coected uit, due to icorrect cablig, due to a fault. There are uits coected that have a ivalid or ukow uit code, or a ivalid combiatio of uit types. The cotrol pael software is outdated. The cotrol pael has power but is ot commuicatig with ay uit. For water-heated models: Risk of freezig because discharge temperature is too low. Frost protectio has be activated. Freezig may cause damage to the heat exchager. 1. Check that all coected uits are receivig mais supply. 2. Check whether the dummy plug o termial X535 of the last coected uit is prest. 3. Check the cotrol cables: are they correctly coected ad free of breaks? are they stretched out or rolled up i a bifilar coil? are they shielded from magetic fields? 4. Check the fuses. 5. Check the wirig betwe the cotrol pael ad coectios X530 ad X535 ad X60 i the uit. 6. Reset the system if the error message does ot automatically disappear. Maitace activities ad repairs that must be performed by a istaller are described i chapter 7 Service. 6.2 Safety istructios Before opig the uit, follow the safety istructios i sectio Safety issues relatig to istallatio, maitace ad servicig. 6.3 Cleaig the uit 6.4 Replacig or cleaig the filter You ca clea the exterior of the uit with a damp cloth ad a domestic cleaig agt. Do ot use ay solvts. c Cautio: Make sure that o water rus ito the uit. A filter module is available as a accessory. This is mouted o top of the uit. This module cotais a tray, iside which is the filter material. By default, the filter tray cotais a class G2 filter material. You ca clea the filter material with a vacuum cleaer, for istace. Loos the three bolts 5 which attach this frame to the cabiet. c Cautio: The fa is heavy, ad will fall if you ufast these bolts. Take firm hold of the fa. 7. The fa is attached to the frame with four bolts 6. Loos the bolts. 8. The base plate is attached to the cabiet with 16 (NOZ 2 25) or 20 (NOZ 2 50) screws. Loos these screws 7 ad remove the base plate. 9. Mout the whole thig i reverse order to the dismatlig. If ecessary, extd the mais power cable. 75 NOZ2 MANUAL SERVICE 7.3 Removig the cotrol circuit board 1. Switch the uit off usig the cotrol pael or the buildig maagemt system. Warig: w Shut off the mais supply. 2. Op the electroic housig: udo screws 1 at the bottom of the housig, tilt the cover 2 ad lift the cover off the uit. 3. Discoect all uit-coected coectors ad grouded coectios from the cotrol circuit board. 4. Remove the screw Slide the cotrol circuit board 4 loose ad lift it out of the uit. 7.4 Coectig the cotrol circuit board w Warig: Make sure that the mais supply is switched off 1. Slide the cotrol circuit board ito its place ad screw it i firmly. 2. Coect all coectors ad earth coectios to the cotrol circuit board agai. 3. Switch the uit o ad check the operatio. With a ew cotrol circuit board, a E1 error may occur because the old cotrol circuit board ca o loger be foud. Resolve this by recofigurig the system via mu > Maitace > Reset system. If you are asked to desigate a ew master uit, th preferably select a uit whose cotrol circuit board has ot be replaced. I that evt, the settigs will be preserved. Maual versio 7.0 ( ) -75

76 SERVICE AIR HEATER 7.5 Fuses The cotrol circuit board of the uit is fitted with the followig fuses: fuse F140 1 of the trasformer. fuse F141 2 of the cotrol circuit board. The values are idicated o the fuses. 7.6 LEDs The LED lights 1 o the cotrol circuit board idicate the followig: cotiuous gre: The cotrol circuit board is receivig a power supply. flashig gre: The uit code ca be tered. cotiuous red: There is a local error. This does ot ecessarily always result i a error message o the cotrol pael. 7.7 Settig the uit code The uit code must be set after replacemt of the cotrol circuit board i the uit. The uit code depds o the uit type ad is idicated o the type plate. To set the uit code, there are two methods: directly via the cotrol pael if a sigle uit is coected; via the cotrol circuit board ad the cotrol pael if more tha oe uit is coected. Warig: w Eterig a icorrect code will result i poor performace of the uit. -76

77 NOZ2 MANUAL SERVICE Settig the uit code via the cotrol pael c Cautio: Settig the uit code usig this method will oly work if just a sigle uit is coected to the cotrol pael. If ecessary, coect the cotrol pael separately to the uit i questio. 1. Select mu > Maitace > Uit code. 2. Eter the uit code via the cotrol pael ad press ok. The cotrol pael will ow search for the uit agai Settig the uit code via the cotrol circuit board ad the cotrol pael 1. Coect the mais supply (isert the plug ito the socket or move the isolatio switch to ON). w Warig: Do NOT touch ay live parts. 2. Press dow the microswitch 1 o the cotrol circuit board. The LED ext to the microswitch will start flashig. The cotrol pael displays eight umbers: these comprise the uit code. 3. Eter the uit code via the cotrol pael ad press ok. 4. Press dow microswitch 1. The LED ext to the microswitch will stop flashig. The uit code is ow set. 5. Reset the cotrol pael. Maual versio 7.0 ( ) -77

78 SERVICE AIR HEATER 7.8 Resettig the PIN code The PIN code of the cotrol pael ca be reset usig a USB flash drive: 1. Coect a USB flash drive to the cotrol pael. The USB mu is activated 2. Press x for 15 secods. The scre shows o chage. The PIN code has ow be reset to the default pi code: Exit the USB mu by removig the USB flash drive. 7.9 Copyig the settigs The settigs of the uit ca be copied to aother uit What you eed Before copyig the settig, check that you have the followig: A empty USB flash drive. The USB flash drive must be formatted for FAT or DOS. Do ot use a USB hard disk for the software update Step 1: Copyig the settigs of the correctly-set uit 1. Check whether the settigs to be copied o the origial b- touch cotrol pael are all correctly set. 2. Coect the USB flash drive to the USB port of the b- touch cotrol pael. If the USB flash drive is ot detected, discoect it ad th coect it agai. The cotrol pael detects the USB flash drive ad displays the USB mu 3. Select Export Settigs The progress perctage is displayed. 4. Wh this has be completed, discoect the USB flash drive from the cotrol pael. -78

Keep the fuctio Import settigs pressed dow util the progress of the process is displayed. The settigs are ow beig imported. Below the progress perctage, the ame of the file to be imported is visible: settigs_export.txt 3. Wh this has be completed, discoect the USB flash drive from the cotrol pael. 4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each cotrol pael to which you wish to apply the same settigs Updatig the software Biddle is workig cotiuously o improvig its products ad recommds that you update the software of the cotrol pael ad of the cotrol circuit board wh updates become available. Cosult Biddle s website for availability What you eed. Before updatig the software of the cotrol pael, check that you have the followig: A empty USB flash drive. The USB flash drive must be formatted for FAT or DOS. Do ot use a USB hard disk for the software update. A PC with Iteret access Step 1: Check the currt software versio Before you update the software of the cotrol pael or of the cotrol circuit board, you must check the existig software versio. If the software versio is the same as that of the most rect update file o Biddle s website, you do ot eed to update the software. 1. Press mu i the Home scre. 2. Select Maitace > Status. Look for your product ad the available software for your uit. 4. If the software versio is more rect tha the versio o your cotrol pael, click o the software update. 5. Accept the licce agreemt ad save the file to the mai directory of the USB flash drive. 6. Discoect the USB flash drive from the PC Step 3: Updatig the software w Warig: Do ot switch off the uit or discoect the USB flash drive durig the software update. Do ot discoect the USB flash drive from the cotrol pael ev if there is a power failure durig the update. The update will resume as soo as the power returs. If a error occurs durig the update, start the procedure agai. If the error cotiues to occur, cotact Biddle. 1. Coect the USB flash drive (with the software update) to the USB port o the cotrol pael. If the USB flash drive is ot detected, discoect it ad th coect it agai. The cotrol pael detects the USB flash drive ad displays the USB mu 2. Select Software update to update the software. 3.
