Moose played rombone wih he Las Sraws on he Cuba engagemen in May. Moose doesn' hink he will ever see his name in lighs, bu he music on he rip sounded prey good o him. Probably he would have played a comb wih a slip o paper o ge o go o Cuba. I was a goodwill rip rom he ciy o New Orleans. They [he ciy] jus happened o choose he Sraws. o make he rip. They sayed in he Havana Hilon, one o Tie ines hoels in Cuba. They were reaed like kings while here; hey had a good ime. They marched in a parade. Havana, Cuba had a big carnival. They don' have cymbal drummers.. The drummer could ge by on a snare drum and a bass drum alone. I "has more o ha parade sound; in a parade you don' have all he cymbals, ec. The drummer does know liow o play hem/ bu in he paricular syle he Sraws play, he relies mosly on His snare and bass drum. Moose had always been able o play in one key only-b la-everyhing he played had o be-played in B la. Since he has been playing wih he Sraws, here have been some good musicians» guys 'who really knew -heir su, and over.i a period o a year or so Tiey augh Moose o play in Jus abou every ^ey., Moose ries o minimize himsel by keeping his playing in a lower regiser raher han rying o ge up in he amosphere. Moose likes o play in a low regiser, bu i is no always eecive on some unes-you have o ge high. Moose agrees ha he general amosphere o he band is no ha o Bourbon Sree.
