WHEREAS, In the school year alone, T.A.FY tmjched the lves of more than 2 mllon students naton-wde md Canada. ncludng 70,000 youngsters n Phladelpha and 140,000 youngsters In Pennsylvana; and WHEREAS, 'L4FY has commssoned and produced over 40 orgnal_stage muscals prased by educators and the press as a delghtful experence for all ages. ' The curta-n's down.. the seventh season of the Bnghamton Summer Musc Festval complete. Lookng back, we owe much to the magc of the.. Wzard of Oz". What a wonderful way t was -to have started one of our most successful seasons wth the charmng performance by your talented cast. As you perhaps know, we had practcally a full house or both performances. "The orgn~lty of your producton was a clever combnaton of new and old. tne stagng, partcularly your lghtng, was mo$t effectve and exctng the musc and dancng pure fun. The fn1shng touch came at the. close when your performers appeared at the back of the theater to delght the youngsters wth personal greetngs and autographs. It was marvelous! X couldn't.have asjced for better.- Every detal was perfect ~the sets-were colorful rendernqs of wbat X thnk everyone expected to see-. Phladelpha, PA Dear Ben: On behalf of the Thunder Bay Communty Audtorum, I wsh to express my grattude for the two shows of aeauty & The Beast. that we had as part of the thunder Bay Chldren's Festval June 19th. Amercan FanUy Theater played to two almost sold out audences of 1,500 seats each and the crowds' reacton was tremendous. 1he petforrnc:llces were frst doss and even the young ones aged two and up were Clble to follow the story. 1he costumes were exquste especk:dty the Beast and of course the specal effects of hs voce. H certanly made hjm "beastty' and I could hear the sctee:~~m (and cres of the wee ones) whenever he cppeared on stage. 1he musc was great as was the sngng and dancng that went along wth ths petfonnance. After Wzard of Oz the prevous year, I felt that I could count on your company to brng us the calbre of entertanment from the year before but you surpctsed us ncely wtth a petformc:n:e way beyond our expectatons. I certanly look forward to other upccxrng productons fr:kn Amercan Famly theater and to further enhance our relatonshp whh ths company. Dear Ed: Chldren s theater couldn t have been any better than t was when "Beauty & The Beast" ht our stage durng the Unversty of Delaware's Summer Arts Festval a couple of weeks ago. The set. was beautful,,the costumes clepn and colorful, and the performers charmng and very talented. We couldn't have wanted for more. To. top t a11 off, though, attendance ht an all-tme hgh! I am wrtng to~ you what a great experence t has been! They were easy to work, even the setup /loadn had no problems. The performance was full of energy and professonalsm. The actors were very cooperatve n meetng the audence after each show. Everyone left the theater wth a smle! I even had a local bank presdent call me the followng day to say "t was one of the fnest productons he has seen!" Thank you for all of your cooperaton s settng up ther performance.
