17 21 Birh Tree 3 ar intro Peter Ilyih Thaikovsky Thaikovsky as the most famous Russian omposer ever His family as ealthy and he as given a good musial eduation from a Frenh teaher His father anted him to eome a government lerk ut he deided to eome a musiian instead and studied omposing at the Conservatory in St Petersurg He egan teahing musi at the Moso Conservatory in 1866 and egan to ompose more seriously People loved his musi A ealthy oman, Nadezhda von Mek, gave Thaikovsky 6,000 rules per year so he ould give up teahing and spend all his time omposing She insisted that they never meet, though they exhanged letters for many years Thaikovsky died of the same disease that laimed his mother While visiting St Petersurg in 1893 during a holera epidemi, Thaikovsky ignored the arnings aout drinking unoiled ater He died on Nov 6, 1893 Thaikovsky used the Russian folk song Birh Tree in his Fourth Symphony Searh for and listen to a reording of this ork on YouTue Can you hear here he used this theme? 15
