Submitted manuscripts shuld typically be duble-spaced typewritten pages, and shuld in n event exceed 40 pages, with appendices, endntes, references, authr bigraphies, tables, and figures n separate pages. Manuscripts must be in English. There is n submissin fee. 2. Submissin f a manuscript will be taken t imply that the submissin has nly riginal and unpublished wrk that is nt submitted fr publicatin elsewhere. Submissin f a manuscript implies cmmitment t publish in the jurnal. Manuscripts shuld nt have been published elsewhere in substantially similar frm r with substantially similar cntent. Authrs in dubt abut what cnstitutes prir publicatin shuld cnsult the Editr. 3. All submissins shuld be made electrnically at where authrs will be required t set up an nline accunt in the SAGETRACK system pwered by SchlarOne. The title page shuld include the article title, authr name (s) and permanent affiliatin (s), and the name, current address, address, and telephne number f the persn t whm page prfs and reprints shuld be sent. 5. Abstract. The abstract shuld appear n a separate page, immediately fllwing the title page. The abstract shuld nt exceed 150 wrds. Immediately belw the abstract n the same page shuld appear a list f 4-5 keywrds, fllwed by a list f 2-3 JEL classificatin numbers. 6. Text. The text f the article shuld begin n a new page. Each sectin title shuld be in bld, capitalized letters, and shuld be centered. Each sectin title (including appendices) shuld be designated by Arabic numerals (1, 2, and s n). Subsequent subsectin headings shuld be numbered 1.1, 1.2, and s n, and shuld appear flush with the left margin. Figures and tables shuld be numbered cnsecutively thrughut the text (1, 2, and s n). Displayed equatins shuld be numbered cnsecutively thrughut the text (1, 2, and s n); equatin numbers shuld appear flush with the right margin and in parentheses. Type mathematical expressins exactly as they shuld appear in print, using the apprpriate typeface style: variables shuld be in italic type, and matrices and vectrs shuld be in bldface type. 7. Appendices. Appendices shuld be titled and shuld immediately fllw the text. Appendices shuld be numbered in Arabic numerals (1, 2, and s n). 8. Endntes. Acknwledgements and related infrmatin (including financial supprt) shuld appear in an endnte designated by an asterisk after the last authr s name n the title page. Subsequent endntes shuld be numbered cnsecutively (1, 2, and s n) and shuld be designated by superscripts in the text. All endntes shuld be duble-spaced and shuld appear beginning n a separate page immediately fllwing the appendices. 9. References. When referring in the text t utside references, include nly the last name (s) f the authr (s), fllwed by the date f the publicatin in parentheses. References in the text shuld als be listed in chrnlgical rder (e.g., Brwn 1990a, 1990b; Jnes and Taylr 1995; Williams 2000). Full references shuld use full names (nt initials), shuld be listed in chrnlgical rder, shuld be typed duble-spaced, and shuld appear beginning n a separate page immediately fllwing the endntes, accrding t the fllwing examples. Use descriptive names fr variables rather than cmputer acrnyms, and explain all abbreviatins. 12. Figures. Figures shuld be titled and shuld each be n a separate page, immediately fllwing the tables. 4 be submitted in electrnic frm. Figure legends shuld be typed dublespaced. Additinal Style Guide fr Authrs 1. Capitalizatin. 1. In titles and headings, capitalize first and last wrd (unless secnd part f hyphenated wrd), all nuns, prnuns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and subrdinating cnjunctins (if, because, as, that, etc.); d nt capitalize articles (a, an, the), crdinating cnjunctins (and, but, r, fr, nr), prepsitins, r the t in infinitives, unless they are the first r last wrd. 2. In general, d nt capitalize nuns fllwed by numerals r letters that dente a specific place in a numbered series, and use numerals in these cnstructins (e.g., day 2 f trial 5, trial 5 r experiment 99). 3. The first letter fllwing a cln shuld be lwercase. 4. D nt capitalize black and white when referring t race. 2. Citatins. 1. D nt use a cmma t separate authr and date (Smith 1999). 2. Use the wrd and when cited in parentheses (Jnes and Guerra 1999). 3. Write ut nly the first three authrs every time; if there are mre than three, use the first authr s name, fllwed by et al. 4. When citing a page number as well as an authr and date, d nt use a p. befre the page number (Smith 1999, 20); if bth a vlume and page number are cited, use a cln between the tw (Smith 1999, 7:20). 5. Fr a republished wrk, the article shuld be cited in text as (Smith [1999] 2002). 6. Fr a wrk with n authr, use the cmplete title r an abbreviatin f the title in place f the authr, capitalizing nly the first letter f the title and nt using qutatin marks (Current in the news 1980). 3. Miscellaneus. 1. Spell ut the wrd percent (25 percent). 2. In the text, use numbers in parentheses fr lists: (1), (2), and (3). 3. The use f while and since is acceptable. 4. Write dates in the mnth-day-year sequence (January 1, 1999). 5. Use lwercase fr ante and pst meridiem (a.m., p.m.).

5 4. Numbers. 1. Spell ut numbers ne thrugh ninety-nine; als spell ut centuries, using lwercase letters (twentieth century). 2. Always hyphenate cmmn fractins (tw-thirds). 3. Fr rdinal numbers, use 2nd, 3rd, and s n. 4. Spell ut numbers fr time (three mnths, tw weeks) and age (seven-year-ld, age frty years).
