Demonsraing ha consumers are increasingly making Inerne conneciviy a prioriy, 75.3 percen pay for broadband Inerne (up from 70.9% las year); 90.4 percen pay for cable, elephone company-provided TV or saellie. The number of homes subscribing o wired cable has decreased 4.1 percen in he pas year a he same ime ha elephone company-provided and saellie TV have seen increases of 21.1 percen and 2.1 percen, respecively. Broadcas-Only/Broadband Homes in Focus Though less han 5 percen of TV households, homes wih broadband Inerne and free, broadcas TV are on he rise growing 22.8 percen over las year. These households are also found o exhibi ineresing video behaviors: hey sream video wice as much as he general populaion and wach half as much TV. Wheher hey re cord-cuers or former broadcas-only homes ha upgraded o Inerne service, hese homes represen a very small bu growing group of U.S. consumers. Ineresingly, roughly he same percenage of consumers in broadcas-only/broadband homes wach radiional TV, sream or use he Inerne as in all cross-plaform homes; he difference beween hese groups falls o ime spen on hese aciviies.
