Fixed the defect that Sftware Operatin Panel culd nt functin prperly r culd stp respnding when tw r mre scanners were cnnected t ne cmputer simultaneusly. Versin Added features: 1. The [Clr Distinctin] categry has been added t the [Autmatic Clr Detectin] settings. When [Ignre Backgrund Clr] is enabled, a dcument printed n a backgrund clr paper can be prcessed as a mnchrme dcument.

2 2. The interface f [Backgrund Pattern Remval] has been changed frm switch buttns t the slider bar. 3. The [Mde] categry has been added t the [Hle Punch Remval] settings. When [Mde] is set t [Advanced], a large punched hle (up t 13 mm in diameter) r a nn-circular punched hle (see a sample belw) can be remved. Imprvements: 1. Accuracy f detecting barcdes in dcuments where tw r mre barcdes exist has been imprved. 2. Device Stage feature has been remved frm the installer t reduce its size, and thereby the dwnlad time is shrtened.

3 3. [Accuracy] in the [Pririty] settings f [Crpping] - [Autmatic Size] settings has been enhanced, aiming fr reducing pssibility f crpping failure caused by vertical streaks n the image. 4. Sme descriptins in Arabic r in Russian have been revised. 5. The windw t select a scanner has been added t the Sftware Operatin Panel. The scanner t cnfigure can be selected during startup f Sftware Operatin Panel when tw r mre scanners are cnnected. 6. [Vertical Streak Detectin] displays a ppup balln frm Errr Recvery Guide Tl when vertical streaks are detected. Service Update 5 Versin Added features: 1. Added [Target Pages] and [Margin] settings t [Blank Page Detectin], whereby the target pages f the detectin can be selected The [Target Pages] allws yu t select whether index-tabbed pages will be included in the target f the detectin. Nte: T use this feature, g t [Cnfiguratin] > [Image Prcessing] and set [Index Tab] t [Output] The [Margin] allws yu t set the (width f) margin area frm the dcument edge which will nt be screened fr the blank page detectin.

Nte: T use this feature, g t [Cnfiguratin] > [Image Prcessing] and set [Deskew Methd] t [Add t Scan Settings].

Whether the Errr Recvery Guide runs autmatically during Windws startup r nt can be selected during installatin f PaperStream IP. 7 4. Setup.exe runs autmatically after running (extracting) the cmpressed executin file f the driver installer. Crrected issues: 1. Fixed the fllwing defect that a part f image is nt utputted r unnecessary image is utputted in flatbed scanning: - The edge f image is cut by crpping. - The inside f the dcument is cut by crpping. - Crpping is ut f place when running [Deskew]. 2. Fixed the defect that an applicatin may end abnrmally when mdules f PaperStream IP are laded. 3. Fixed the defect that [Select Scanner] is nt available in sme applicatins. 4. Fixed the defect that [Hle Punch Remval] des nt wrk prperly with sme type f dcuments.

8 Service Update 4 Versin Added features and imprvements: 1. Added [Left t Right] fr [Print Directin] in [Digital Endrser]. It enables t print a text frm left t right. 2. Added [Aztec Cde] f tw-dimensinal cdes fr [Type] in [Barcde Detectin]. Nte: "2D Barcde fr PaperStream r later is required t use [Aztec Cde]. 3. Added [Backgrund] in [Deskew] setting f [Crpping] feature. [Backgrund Clr] enables t specify the dcument clr as backgrund clr.

This ccurs after the driver windw is clsed and then the number f displays is reduced r the arrangement f the displays is changed befre the windw is repened. Fixed the defect that Autmatic Image Quality Checker (AIQC) may nt be ntified crrectly when scanning with bth [Blank Page Detectin] and [Multifeed Detectin] enabled. Fixed the defect that the existing exprted file is lst when using the Scanning Prfile Exprter and cancelling the verwriting f the file. Fixed the defect that the applicatin may stp respnding when the user scans, selecting the prfile where [Clr by Length] is enabled, in a scanner which [Clr by Length] is nt supprted. Fixed the defect that the errr message that means the string is nt fund appears frm the applicatin when the [Stp] buttn is pressed during scanning. Fixed the defect that [Autmatic Clr Detectin] des nt wrk crrectly when using a particular applicatin. Fixed the defect that the images scanned up t the pause f scanning are discarded when the scanning is paused by the applicatin.

13 Service Update 2 Versin Crrected issue: Fixed the defect that the scanner is unable t scan using Windws XP r Windws XP Prfessinal x64 Editin. Versin Added imprvements: 1. The fllwing changes have been made in the user interface f the driver dialg: Added Turkish t the display language in the user interface. Revised the design f the icn fr switching between nrmal/simple screen t be mre user friendly. Revised the expressin f the message in the [Preview] windw. 2. Imprved the [Edge Crrectin] feature t create a mre natural result f edge crrectin fr clr image. 3. Revised [Blank Page Skip] feature t [Blank Page Detectin]: Enable t specify whether a blank page is utputted r nt. Added the feature t ntify the result f [Blank Page Detectin] in the applicatin (supprted by API) when specifying t utput a blank page. Enable t detect a page with a bleed-thrugh as a blank page by judging the utputted image when perfrming duplex scan. 4. Revised the feature t specify [Scanning Area]: Enable t specify the [Scanning Area] even when selecting [Autmatic Size] fr [Crpping]. Added the feature t specify individual [Scanning Area] in the case when each scan setting fr multiple images is cnfigured separately; and when [Multi Image Output], [Autmatic Clr

Nte: Tw-dimensinal Cdes is available when 2D Barcde fr PaperStream has been installed. Crrected issues: 1. Fixed the defect that PaperStream IP may stp respnding when using Web applicatins t scan. 2. The default f [Tne Adjustment] is revised t [Autmatic] after the installatin. 3. Fixed the defect that the scan settings may nt be saved. 4. Fixed the defect that a sheet with patch cdes printed is nt excluded when [Jb Cntrl] is specified. 5. Fixed the defect that an abnrmal image is utputted when [Clr] r [Grayscale] is specified fr [Image Mde]. 6. Fixed the defect that when nce N paper errr is ntified, it may appears repeatedly whenever scanning starts.

15 Service Update 1 Versin Added imprvements: Added the functin t save the scan settings in the prfile when using Assisted Scan. Save Prfile buttn is added t the Assisted Scan windw. Able t specify Scanning Area in lng page scanning mde. Able t specify Shadw and Highlight when specifying [Black & White] in Image Mde and selecting Custm in Tne Adjustment. Crrected issues: The dialg f Assisted Scan may nt display prperly when specifying Use separate settings fr frnt and back side in Optin. The settings f Clr Cleanup may nt be cnfigured frm the dialg when utputting in [Clr] r [Grayscale] image mde. Marking pages may nt perate when using the driver in PaperStream Capture and selecting [Mark pages when multifeed is detected] checkbx. The windw f Errr Recvery Guide may nt be displayed prperly. An errr may ccur after scanned 1000 pages r mre in [Multi Image Output] when scanning cntinuusly (withut terminating the applicatin). Versin Crrected issues: Launching Sftware Operatin Panel r setting change n Sftware Operatin Panel may rarely cause a hang-up f the scanner device r destructin f data in EEPROM.

16 Versin Crrected issues: In rare cases, the prgram autmatically ends when scanning with edge repair functin enabled. In rare cases, the ScanSnap Manager fr fi Series autmatically ends when scanning. In rare cases, the running prgram stps respnding when cancelling a scan. When retrying t scan again after paper jam has ccurred with the Imprinter installed, an errr message, An unexpected errr is received frm the scanning device.(ds50005), will be displayed and scanning may end suddenly. Scanning may end suddenly when retrying t scan again after paper jam. When selecting Stp and Shw Image after multi-feed is detected, an errr message f Nt enugh memry available will be displayed, and the scanning may end suddenly. Dialgs cannt be clsed in sme applicatins. The prgram exits abnrmally when several prgrams are pened at the same time.
