As lng as the mute feature is activated, the mute key stays lit (blue). Press this key t deactivate the mute feature. Turn dwn the vlume. Turn up the vlume. Answer an incming call r make a call (keypad) in hands free mde (the key is blue). During a cnversatin, the first press pens the audi taster. 12 4 Active area This area is reserved fr running applicatins and fr previews f applicatins selected by the user. When yu start an applicatin, it is displayed in the active zne. If n applicatin has been launched, the active zne displays the applicatin previews that yu have preset n the hmepage. An applicatin preview allws yu t view this applicatin infrmatin and easily access it. Applicatins that can be previewed are: Histry, Favrites, Manager/Assistant, Supervisin, Dial-pad. Add r delete an applicatin in the active area Settings Applicatin Select the applicatin that yu want t add t the hmepage r delete frm the hmepage (Histry, Favrites, Manager/Assistant, Supervisin, Dial-pad). Activate r deactivate preview f the applicatin (yes r n). Back t hmepage. 5 6 Applicatins bar (Hmepage in business mde) This area allws access t all applicatins and t different features f the running applicatin. Applicatins area (Hmepage in standard mde) Yu can access yur phne applicatins frm this area. Press the applicatin buttn t access the applicatin. Once yu run an applicatin, the display is the same as the business mde display. Prgrammable keys are available in this mde (See: Prgramming a direct shrtcut fr a cntact.). Make a call. Open the dial keypad t make a cnversatin. Search fr a cntact. Access the settings menu. This applicatin allws yu t manage audi files and images. The histry applicatin shws tw tabs, listing new phne events such as missed calls, and lder phne events. T access vice mail functins. This applicatin cntains favrite cntacts that yu have selected frm yur list f cntacts. Call a cntact frm the favrites applicatin. Make a call using yur list f cntacts. Lck / unlck yur telephne. 13 1.5 Navigatin The phne set hmepage can be viewed in standard r advanced mde. Scrll yur finger up r dwn t get the page r menus scrlling vertically (in advanced mde), r scrll right r left t get the page scrlling hrizntally (in standard mde nly). Hmepage in standard mde Hmepage in business mde Make yur selectin by pressing the right icn n the sensitive screen. In standard mde, persnalize the hmepage by pressing and hlding. Scrll thrugh the applicatin area pages (advanced mde) r the applicatin bar (business mde). In standard mde nly, yu can have up t 2 pages. Scrll the list (call lg, cntacts...). First press: back t the previus hmepage page. Secnd press: back t the first hmepage page. This dark greyed circle symblizes the current page (default skin). Installing r replacing the Bluetth handset battery Lift up the battery cver. Slide ut the battery hlding part. The battery recharges when the Bluetth handset is n its base. 15 1.7 Install a cmfrt wired handset Yu can install a wired handset in place f the Bluetth Wireless Handset. Remve the rubber. Plug-in the wired handset t the apprpriate cnnectr (refer t phne descriptin). Make sure yu psitin the cable crrectly in the cmpartment intended fr that purpse: Switch ff the Bluetth Wireless Handset (press and hld the On/Off hk key until yu hear tw distinct tnes). 1.8 HDMI cnnectr Yur set is equipped with an HDMI 1.4 utput fr a better vide experience. The 8088 Smart DeskPhne can be cnnected t a large screen r vide prjectr. Mrever, an external camera can be cnnected t the phne t bradcast the entire rm. Yur deskphne can easily find its place in a meeting rm. There are tw ways t use the HDMI cnnectr: Bradcast the vide cnversatin (HD capability). Bradcast the entire display f the phne. Yur set has t be cnnected t the apprpriate equipment. Bradcast the vide cnversatin (HD capability) Use ne f the fllwing: During the vide cnversatin, swipe up n the vide displayed n the phne t bradcast it t the equipment cnnected via HDMI. T stp the bradcast, swipe dwn n the vide displayed n the phne. Select the HDMI buttn. 16 2 Using yur telephne 2.1 Making a call Use ne f the fllwing: Dial directly the number fr yur call. Lift the receiver Enter the destinatin number. Press the n-hk/ff-hk key f the Bluetth device (Bluetth Wireless handset) Dial the destinatin number. Dialer. Dial the destinatin number. Use the dialpad preview t dial the destinatin number. Hands free Dial the destinatin number. Prgrammed line key. Search by name. Press the call icn t call yur cntact. T make an external call, dial the utside line access cde befre dialing yur cntact number.the default utside-line access cde is usually 0. Hwever, please check this cde with yur installer. 17 2.2 Make a call using the persnal phne bk (Cntacts) Cntacts Select the cntact t call Infrmatin regarding yur cntact is displayed n the screen. Press the call icn t call yur cntact. If there are several numbers fr the same cntact, select the desired number. 2.3 Using call by name Use ne f the fllwing: Search Swipe up n the screen. Enter the first letters f yur cntact name. The names f cntacts matching yur search criteria are autmatically displayed n the screen. Call yur cntact by chsing him/her in the list. If yu wish yu can als display yur cntact cmplete file. When searching by name, results are displayed shwing all matching names fllwed by first names. Yu can als search by initials. Type the initials f first name and surname, separated by a space. All first names/names matching these initials will be displayed in the search. 2.4 Call frm call lg (Histry) All incming, utging, missed r unanswered calls are displayed in the call lg. Yu can call back frm yur phne call lg. Access the call lg by pressing the Cmmunicatin key. Select the tab: Histry All call lgs are displayed. Select the tab: New Only new missed calls are displayed. Use ne f the fllwing: Call yur cntact directly by selecting the badge. Select the cntact t call. Answered utging call. Unanswered utging call. Callback (Call back the last number f the selected cntact). If there are several numbers fr the same cntact, select the desired number. The handsfree mde is activated. When the handfree is activated, the crrespnding feature key is lit blue. T take the call back with the handset Use ne f the fllwing: Take the handset ff the hk. Select the tab: Histry All call lgs are displayed. Select the tab: New Only new missed calls are displayed. Select the apprpriate tab. Select the recipient frm the call lg. Yur cntact's details are displayed n the screen alng with the histry f all his/her calls (missed calls, received calls, vic , etc.). Cnfirm deletin f all call lg events: If yur call lg cntains unread events, a warning message is displayed n the screen. Vic Select the cntact wh has left a vice message. Press the cmmunicatin key n the permanent features keys panel (Lit). Vic Select the cntact wh has left a vice message. On the hmepage, press the vice mail key. Enter the passwrd t access the visual vice mail. The visual vic applicatin shws tw tabs which allw yu t list new vice messages and t cnsult messages (ld and new). New Only new messages. Vic s All messages (Old and new messages). Select the apprpriate tab. Select a message. Infrmatin regarding yur cntact is displayed n the screen. Play VM Listen t message. Pause VM Pause while listening t message. Stp VM Stp listening. When yu have played the message yu can: Callback Call back sender f message. Delete Delete the current message r all messages. 29 4 Vide call All vide features described in this manual are available with the 8088 Smart DeskPhne with camera r if yu have cnnected an external camera t the phne. 4.1 Vide call T use this feature, bth yur phne and yur caller's phne must have the feature enabled. The phnes must als be able t handle vide. During a vide call, the screen cmprises tw areas. 32 5 Cntacts management 5.1 Define a cntact Cntacts Add new cntact Fill in the cntact file. Yu must prvide at least a last name. Back Yur cntact is added t the directry. Fr external numbers, we recmmend yu use cannical address frmats cmprising '+', fllwed by the cuntry cde (e.g. '33') then the number withut the first digit. Fr example, fr , enter the number T get the '+' sign, lng press n the '0' key. This example is fr calling a number in France frm anther cuntry. An external server (LDAP) may be available in yur cmpany fr the cntacts management. When pictures are assciated t these cntacts, thse pictures will nly be displayed when ding a dial by name. 5.2 Add a cntact frm the call lg Access the call lg by pressing the Cmmunicatin key. It supprts synchrnizatin f the Outlk data placed lcally, fr example in a lcal Outlk archive file. The default maximum number f cntacts yu can synchrnize between yur phne and yur PC is 500. Hwever, yur administratr can increase this t up t 1,000. Please ask yur administratr fr the maximum number f cntacts. Once yu have run the initial synchrnizatin, if yu delete a cntact frm the phne cntacts list, the cntact will be deleted frm Outlk during the next synchrnizatin (and vice versa). Yu are advised t create an Outlk subflder dedicated t yur phne cntacts and t wrk frm this flder. This will help prtect yur general Outlk cntacts n yur PC Prerequisites The supprted perating systems are: Micrsft Windws 7 SP1 (32 bits and 64 bits). Micrsft Windws 8 (32 bits and 64 bits). Pairing yur phne and yur PC When yu run the synchrnizatin fr the first time, yu must pair yur phne and yur PC. 1. Accept the certificate required by the phne (ensure that the certificate cmes frm the target PC),. 2. A pairing PIN cde (PIN) is displayed n the phne screen. 3. The phne is detected by the PC and yu are prmpted t enter this PIN cde and a name fr the pairing. Yu have 30 secnds t enter the PIN cde. If yu dn't d s yu will have t start the prcedure again. 4. The synchrnizatin is autmatically started when the pairing is established. This pairing has t be dne nly fr the first synchrnizatin. Frm the PC applicatin menu, yu can delete this pairing. Synchrnizatin During the synchrnizatin, yu can mnitr prgress and view the summary nce the prcess is cmpleted. Make sure this ptin ('Silent Sync') is cnfigured crrectly in the Synchrnizatin settings n the PC side. Yu can als see which items are mdified and where by clicking n the detailed view buttn. Synchrnizatin takes abut 15 secnds fr 500 cntacts. Yu can receive and make calls during synchrnizatin but this can make the synchrnizatin prcess lnger. The synchrnizatin functin is mst cmmnly used t synchrnize yur PC Outlk cntacts with yur phne cntacts list. Once yu have run the initial synchrnizatin, if yu delete a cntact frm the phne cntacts list, the cntact will be deleted frm Outlk during the next synchrnizatin (and vice versa). The prt may be clsed by the firewall. Try t change the prt. Please make sure n ther applicatins are using this prt. Please make sure the firewall allws listening t this prt. Try t change the prt. The prfile r the flder that Cntact-Sync is cnfigured t synchrnize with has been deleted. Select anther prfile r flder in settings. Cntact-Sync culd nt find a supprted versin f Outlk n the PC. Install Outlk. Cntact-Sync culd nt cmmunicate with Outlk. This might be because Outlk has been installed but nt yet set up prperly r is malfunctining. Starting Outlk itself may prvide infrmatin n what is wrng. Please make sure PC Sync is started in the PC. Please restart Cntact-Sync. Please check if Cntact-Sync has run when Windws has started (enable the startup ptin in cnfiguratin f the applicatin). Mst likely there is a mismatch in prtcls: the phne uses HTTPS and Cntact-Sync uses HTTP r vice versa. Try t check r uncheck the 'Use secured cnnectin' Ý checkbx and restart synchrnizatin.
