1 Accessing the Optins Main Menus 1. T access the Optins applicatin, press the Optins buttn ( ) t the right f and belw the sftkeys. The first f three Optins Main screens displays. 2. Use the standard paging indicatrs t mve between the tw Optins Main screens. The three ptins categries displayed n the first Optins Main screen are as fllws: Applicatin Optins: prvides access t allw yu t set the Redial ptin, set the Phne screen display upn answering r calling ptins, set the display f Call Timers, set the rate at which messages display acrss the tp f the screen, and set Visual Alerting (flashing message light n incming calls). View IP Settings: prvides access t the View Status Main screen #1, frm which yu may view IP Address infrmatin/status, quality f service (audi and signaling) status, and interfaces status, and the View Status Main screen #2, frm which yu may view miscellaneus phne/status data. These ptins are mainly used by administratrs and will nt be discussed in this guide. Netwrk Audi Quality: prvides access t the Audi Status screen #1, n which yu can trublesht received cding, packet lss and packetizatin delay, and the Audi Status screen #2, n which yu can trublesht netwrk delay and audi quality. Nte that this ptin displays nly when yu are n a call. These ptins are mainly used by administratrs and will nt be discussed in this guide. The three ptins categries displayed n the secnd Optins Main screen are: Cntrast Cntrl: prvides access t the Cntrast Optin screen, n which yu adjust the telephne's display area cntrast. Feature Buttn Labeling: allws yu t custmize a label n a Feature Buttn, if desired. Lg ff: allws yu t lg the phne ff fr privacy and security purpses. This feature shuld be disabled n yur telephne. The three ptins n the third Optins Main screen are: Backup/Restre: prvides access t the Backup/Restre Main screen, frm which yu can set autmatic backups f speed dial, ptins and feature buttn label data, restre the previus backup file, set up and verify the status f yur File Transfer Prtcl (FTP). These ptins are mainly used by administratrs and will nt be discussed in this guide. Select display language: lets yu change the display frm the current language t any f seven alternate languages.

2 PC Ethernet Interface: allws yu t specify cmmunicatins settings between yur phne and PC (if attached). These ptins are mainly used by administratrs and will nt be discussed in this guide. 3. T select an ptin, press the Line/Feature buttn n either side f the desired ptin. The respective Optins screen displays. 4. T change the current setting, press the crrespnding Line/Feature buttn. The ptin setting "tggles" t and displays the next chice. 5. T exit the Optins applicatin, press any f the sftkeys labeled fr ther applicatins (SpDial, Lg, and Web). T return t the Phne applicatin, press the Phne/Exit ( ) buttn. Applicatin Optins Applicatin ptins let yu change call-related default ptins. Yu select this ptin frm the Optins Main screen, accessed by pressing the phne's Optins buttn. Tw Applicatin Optins screens are available. The first screen prvides the functinality t change call-related settings. The secnd screen allws yu t set visual alerting. Mve between the tw Applicatin Optins screens using the standard paging indicatrs. T change r set any Applicatin screen ptin press the Line/Feature buttn n either side f that ptin. Fr example, if an ptin is set t "N" pressing the crrespnding Line/Feature buttn changes the setting t "Yes." Setting the Redial Optin The Redial ptin prvides ne f tw redial chices: Autmatically redial the last number called when the Redial buttn is pressed, r Display a list f the last 3 numbers called when the Redial buttn is pressed, allwing yu t chse the number yu want redialed.this is the default setting. this setting by pressing the Save sftkey (T restre the previus setting withut changing it, press the Cancel sftkey.) After saving r canceling, the first Optins Main screen displays. Setting the Phne Screen n Answer? Optin When the Phne Screen n Answer? ptin is set t Yes, the Phne screen appears in the display area when yu answer a call, regardless f the screen yu were wrking with at that time. Yu lse any unsaved wrk in prgress (fr example, labeling a Speed Dial buttn) when the Phne screen displays. When the Phne Screen n Answer? ptin is set t N, answering an incming call has n

(T restre the previus setting withut changing it, press the Cancel sftkey.) After saving r canceling, the first Optins Main screen displays. Setting the Phne Screen n Calling? Optin When the Phne Screen n Calling? ptin is set t Yes, the Phne screen appears in the display area when yu make a call, regardless f the screen yu were wrking with at that time. After saving r canceling, the first Optins Main screen displays. Setting the Call Timers Display Yur telephne is capable f displaying tw types f call timers. The Call Timer displays in the tp display area shwing the elapsed time yu are cnnected n a call in h:mm:ss (hurs:minutes:secnds) frmat. The Hld Timer displays in the applicable call appearance area shwing the elapsed time a call has been n hld. When the Display Call Timers? ptin is set t Yes, the Call Timer displays n either the active call appearance line (if the Phne screen is displayed) r the tp display line (if a screen ther than the Phne screen is displayed). Likewise, when a call is n hld, the Hld Timer displays in the crrespnding call appearance area r the tp display line, depending n whether the Phne screen is r is nt displayed. This is the default setting. When the Display Call Timers? ptin is set t N, neither the Call Timer nr the Hld Timer displays. Call time data is still maintained by the phne fr Call Lg purpses. this setting by pressing the Save sftkey. (T restre the previus setting withut changing it, press the Cancel sftkey.) After saving r canceling, the first Optins Main screen displays. Setting the Message Display Rate Althugh rare, the call server can send messages t yur phne that are lnger than the display area. If this ccurs, the first, and then the secnd part f the

4 message display fr a specific time interval. The Message Display Rate can be either Fast (display interval is 2 secnds) r Slw (display interval is 3 secnds). The default rate is Slw. this setting by pressing the Save sftkey. (T restre the previus setting withut changing it, press the Cancel sftkey.) Upn saving, the first Optins Main screen displays. Setting Visual Alerting When this ptin is set t N (the default), ringing is the nly ntificatin f an incming call. When set t Yes, yur phne rings and yur vice message indicatr light flashes t alert yu t an incming call. this setting by pressing the Save sftkey. (T restre the previus setting withut changing it, press the Cancel sftkey.) Upn saving r canceling, the first Optins Main screen displays. Enabling/Disabling the Call Lg Yur Call Lg is a standard applicatin that saves incming and utging calls in ne f three lgs: Incming Answered calls, Incming Unanswered calls, and Outging calls. Call Lg Enabled (active) is the default. Fr privacy purpses, yu can change the status t Disabled, t stp call lgging and delete any calls currently lgged. this setting by pressing the Save sftkey. (T restre the previus setting withut making a change, press the Cancel sftkey.) Upn saving r canceling, the first Optins Main screen displays. If yu changed the status frm "Disabled" t "Enabled" all incming and utging calls will nw be lgged. If yu changed the status frm Enabled t Disabled, all calls frm each Call Lg are deleted and future incming/utging calls are nt lgged. Persnal Ringing Optins Yur Telephne has eight ringing pattern ptins. Yu can hear the patterns and select the ne yu prefer using the Persnal Ringing ptin. Yu select this ptin frm the Optins Main screen, accessed by pressing the phne's Optin buttn. 1. T hear a ring pattern, press the Line/Feature buttn t the left r right f any numbered pattern. The Current Pattern number changes t the selected pattern, which rings nce. 2. Repeat Step 1 until yur preferred pattern appears as the Current Pattern.

5 3. Save the setting by pressing the Save sftkey r t restre the previus setting withut making a change, press the Cancel sftkey. The first Optins Main screen displays. Nte: Ging ff-hk, receiving a call, r lsing pwer during ring pattern selectin interrupts the prcess, and yu must start ver frm Step 1. Adjust the ringer vlume using the Vlume Cntrl buttns. Changing the Display Cntrast On first-time startup, yur telephne's display area cntrast is set t a mid-level. T adjust it t better suit yur wrk envirnment and lighting, 15 cntrast levels are available. 1. Select the Cntrast Cntrl ptin frm the Optins Main screen (accessed by pressing the phne's Optin buttn). 2. T brighten the cntrast, press the Right Arrw sftkey until yu reach the desired cntrast level. T dim the cntrast, press the Left Arrw sftkey until yu reach the desired cntrast level. Each sftkey press results in the level being increased r decreased, depending n which arrw sftkey yu press. Chevrn symbls prvide visual cnfirmatin f the current level. 3. Save the cntrast level yu set by pressing the Save sftkey, r, t restre the previus setting withut changing the cntrast, press the Cancel sftkey. The first Optins Main screen displays. Nte: Yu might nt be able t distinguish between all 15 cntrast level settings. Sme f the upper and/r sme f the lwer cntrast level settings might appear identical t adjacent settings. This is nrmal.
