3 MA 3D Bugfix Fixed - Lp-back netwrk address was nt always present (n cmputer with nly ne netwrk card). Fixed - Visualizatin f nt patched multi-patch fixtures. MA VPU Bugfix Fixtures built up f a main mdule and several LED-instances wn t cause a patch cllisin in the Pixelmapper f the VPU anymre. Values given by the grandmaster will take effect n the utput during a shw uplad after leaving the patch. Z-Psitin-Animatin fixed, if a layer is set t its default values. MA VPU Layer-fixture type has t be exchanged with the ne included in this versin. Windws in Multi Preview wn't verlay the bar graph anymre, if "Channels" are turned ff. Shuld yu use grandma2 alng with dimma slutins, get in tuch with us. A cnsle update requires a NDP update and vice versa. We are happy t assist yu. The current versins f grandma npc and MA 3D requires at least Windws 7. Micrsft.NET Framewrk (4.0) will be installed n yur cmputer. 5 New functins and features in detail: Presets Imprved wrkflw when editing presets. Preset pl bjects can cntain universal, glbal, and selective data. Indicates by a displayed U, G and S depending n the included data. If mre than ne type f data is stred t a preset, e.g. a glbal preset with selective data fr sme fixtures, bth referring letters, e.g. G and S, are displayed in the preset pl bject. Default Preset scpe can be adjusted per preset type in the Setup/Shw/Patch & Fixture Schedule/Fixture Types/Attribute & Encder Gruping r via preset pl ptins menu. Changing the preset scpe will change the preset scpe fr all preset pls f the same preset type. New stre ptin Preset Type Default creates r merges presets accrding t the preset types default scpe. The stre ptin Preset Type Default is set by default when creating a new shw file. New cmmand line stre ptin /aut t stre presets using preset type default scpe. Stre /merge and Update will never change the type f preset. These cmmands will just add the stred data accrding t the current stre mde. /selective - merges prgrammer int preset /glbal - merges prgrammer int preset and remves all selective data f fixtures f the same fixture type with active prgrammer values f the preset. /universal - merges prgrammer int preset and remves all selective and glbal data f fixtures and fixture types with active prgrammer values f this preset. Fixture type fixtures MA + Fixture) t address Universal and Glbal Fixture Type Fixtures via cmmand line. One glbal fixture type instance will be created per fixture mdule. Having e.g. a LED Mving Head cntaining ne main mdule and ne RGB cluster mdule with multiple RGB cluster instances, the glbal fixture type fixture will cntain ne main mdule instance and ne RGB cluster instance. Glbal fixture type fixtures are nly displayed and accessible, when at least ne fixture using this fixture type has a valid Channel r Fixture ID. 6 New prgrammer mask functinality. When editing a preset, the prgrammer will shw fixture types representing the glbal/universal data stred in the preset. Editing and string the values f these "special" fixtures will change the glbal/universal value stred in this preset. New sheet mask ptin Virtual Fixtures t create sheet masks shwing nly real fixtures and/r nly fixture types in sheets. Update menu prvides pssibility t shw and update embedded presets. Prgrammer Playback Interactin Imprved interactin between executrs and prgrammer. Pririty f effects assigned t executrs can be adjusted via assign menu executr ptins. The fllwing rder f pririties is used by all sequence and effect playbacks. The pririty can be adjusted in the executr assign menu ptins. Super New executr pririty Super. This pririty is the LTP pririty abve any ther playback r even prgrammer pririty. With activated executr ptin Sft LTP, intensity super playback will be mixed with ther playbacks until master fader is at 100%. When SOFT LTP is deactivated, the intensity will snap t master fader level f super pririty executr when starting this executr. Prgrammer Prgrammer is fixed at this pririty. This Pririty is reserved fr prgrammer nly and cannt be assigned t any executr. Further adjustment f interactin between prgrammer and playback can be dne by tggling the Freeze functin n r ff. When having Freeze ff, als playbacks with lwer pririty can verwrite the prgrammer. Swap LTP with higher pririty than HTP. Preview and Blind Prgrammer will be cleared when user lgs ut. grandma2 web-remte grandma2 prvides an perating system independent web remte interface. T cnnect t the grandma2 cnsle web remte, make sure yur tablet r cmputer netwrk interface has the same subnet as yur cnsle. Open yur web brwser and type the cnsles IP address at the brwser address field. The fllwing screens are included in this first versin f the web remte. Setup/cnsle/glbal settings/ remtes has t be enabled. Tracking Shield New Stre ptin /Tracking Shield (/ts) is implemented. Tracking shield helps prtecting the "lk" f later cues when string r updating a cue between ther cues. Tracking shield perates by lking dwn the tracking sheet at each fixture that is abut t be stred, searching fr the next ccurrence f the dimmer value is abve zer. The system, fr the lifetime f the Stre peratin, temprarily blcks the data that needs prtectin. Tggle the new stre ptin Tracking Shield using the user key U3 in the stre ptins menu. Additinal Tracking Shield buttn in stre encderbar and update menu. Stre ptins Tracking Shield and Cue Only are mutually exclusive. Enabling ne f these ptins disables the ther. Clck, Time Custm alarm text can be added t cuntdwn timers. The added text will be shwn in the pp-up when a cuntdwn expires. Cmmand syntax can be executed when a cuntdwn timer expires. Bth ptins can be set in the cuntdwn ptins dialg. Additinal trigger mdes fr stpwatch and cuntdwn. Link selected tggle and Link last g tggle. 10 Type f applicatin can be checked with the cmmand versin in the cmmand line respnse. Netwrk DMX Prtcls Art-Net DMX utput via Art-Net supprts Aut detectin and manually setting f Bradcast r Unicast netwrk traffic per universe. OutputAut sends each DMX Universe Unicast t up t 5 receivers detected via ArtPll. If mre than 5 receivers r n receiver is requesting the referring universe, the referring universe will be send as bradcast. OutputUnicast sends the referring DMX Universes unicast t the IP address set in the IP clumn. OutputBradcast sends the referring DMX Universes bradcast. Supprt f Art-Net 3 has been implemented. Art-Net 3 prvides 128 netwrks f 255 Universes. T be cmpatible with Art-Net 2 devices, set the Netwrk parameter t 1. Art-Net Universe parameters have been split int Netwrk(Range 1 thru 128), Subnet(Range 0 thru F) and Universe(Range 0 thru F). Art-Net traffic speed can be slwed dwn per cnfig rw via delay parameter. Streaming ACN(sACN) DMX utput via sacn supprts Unicast and Multicast netwrk traffic. When chsing Output Unicast mde, a valid IP address has t be entered in the IP clumn f the netwrk prtcls/sacn tab, Universes cnfigured in this rw will be sent Unicast t this IP address. When chsing Output Multicast, sacn will be sent as multicast netwrk packets, the IP clumn will nt be available in this case. sacn netwrk traffic speed can be slwed dwn per netwrk cnfig rw via delay parameter. DMX input via sacn supprts Unicast and Multicast netwrk traffic. T change frm utput t input the clumn mde has t be edited. There are tw pssible input mdes, Input Multicast and Input Unicast. Input Multicast will jin the Multicast grup f the referring DMX Input Universe. Input Multicast is limited t max. 10 Universes. If mre than 10 rws are cnfigured as Input Multicast, all rws beynd Multicast input rw 10 will be invalid. Secndary IP f grandma2 npc, MA 3D and MA VPU can be viewed and changed in the Micrsft Windws netwrk cnfiguratin. IP address f NPUs can be changed via netwrk cnfig dialg. MAnet2 DSCP netwrk setting can be adjusted in setup/cnsle/glbal settings. This netwrk parameter can be used in netwrks prviding quality f service(qs). DSCP setting is supprted by grandma2 cnsles and MA NPUs nly. SetIP cmmand always have t include an interface name. E.g. SetIP eth SetIP cmmand ignres invalid interface names. DHCP SetIP eth0 /DHCP enables DHCP supprt fr the specified Interface. Use SetIP eth0 [IPaddress] t set interface t a specific address and disable DHCP. - technlgy will be the new factry default when executing the Frmat and Install. grandma2 versin supprts DHCP fr grandma2 cnsle, grandma2 npc, MA NPU, MA 3D and MA VPU. If a grandma2 cnsle r MA NPU with activated DCHP cannt cnnect t a DHCP server, the cnsle will use an autmatically generated IP address in the range t The first grandma2 cnsle r MA NPU in netwrk will get the IP address Nte: The IP range x.y is a defined area fr Autmatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) als knwn as zer-cnfiguratin netwrking technlgy. This technlgy generates cllisin free IP addresses in this defined IP subnet x.y withut frcing the user t set-up and maintain any DHCP and DNS Server. The IP range x.y is a class B subnet with the assciated subnet Mask This means all IP addresses between and are in the same subnet. grandma2 sftware versin and earlier frced the user t handle the IP addresses himself. Default IP address f MA devices was and cnnecting mre than ne cnsle r peripheral device resulted in IP cllisins the user had t handle by applying unique IP addresses t each device. In current Micrsft Windws and Apple OS X perating systems, -cnfigur -cnfiguratin grandma2 users. Advanced users still have the pssibility t change the IP address, but are nt frced t change the IP addresses anymre. When imprting DMX nde cnfig, Prt cnfiguratin will be matched t existing ndes having the IP address f the nde stred in the exprted cnfig file. Creating, jining a MA sessin, r inviting sessin members is an exclusive grandma2 cnsle r grandma2 npc feature. Peripheral devices like MA NPU, MA 3D, MA VPU r MA Ndes can be invited r dismissed using the grandma2 Netwrk cnfiguratin dialgue. MA 3D and MA VPU interface buttns t create, jin r leave a sessin have been remved. Rewrked IP clumn rder and labels in the netwrk cnfiguratin dialg. Secndary IP settings are supprted fr grandma2 cnsles and MA NPUs nly. Press and hld List + Preset buttn t shw temprary preset pl f current preset type. The cmmand ptin /? extended t shw all pssible ptins f playback cmmands. The cmmands Flash and Black cannt be used in cmbinatin with Channels r Fixtures any mre. The cmmands, FlashOn, FlashGO, G, Gback, Gt, Kill, On, Swp, SwpOn, SwpG, Temp, Tggle, Tp can be cmbined with cue mdes. E.g. Gt Cue 5 /CueMde=XAssert. 13 ystem tab. Currently running plugins are shwn in the mst right tab f the Off menu. Plugins have t be created in prgramming language LUA 5.3. In additin special grandma2 LUA cmmands are available. API and example files can be fund in the /gma2/plugin flder. LUA in general is an extendible scripting language, prviding a small set f general features that can be extended t fit different prblem types. In ur case LUA is intended t prvide a tl t autmate cmplex tasks that ccur frm time t time and t expand in general the pssibilities f ur cnsles when needed in special situatins. Nwadays ur custmers face mre frequently than ever befre the requirement t use ur cnsles in ways esigned it. In many cases such requirements are unique and nly relevant fr individual general functinality t the sftware cre f ur cnsle. Especially televisin game shws, scenery parks and shws n fairs like the IAA and ther mtr-shws demand mre and mre lgical and prcessing cntrl frm ur system. Many f the tpics culd be handled by creating Macrs. At times thse Macrs becme ridiculusly lng and verwhelming t debug. Sme ideas culd nt be realized with what we have. As LUA acts as an interpreter based language it prvides the means t vercme the limitatins f Macr writing fr advanced users f ur cnsle. With the grandma2 Sftware Release V3.1 the implemented LUA-Versin is ttally verhauled and mre childprf nw. It changed its character frm being a pure develpment tl withut a safety-net t a fairly secure while pwerful instrument. In general LUA-scripting is n lnger mre dangerus than a Macr can be r the Delete-Buttn is. It is ready t be expsed nw. Withut dubt the cmmunity f mre advanced users is waiting fr such a tl. Sales might use the LUA-feature as a USP fr custmers with special needs. Applicatin engineers can supprt user faster and better fitting. The included dem file cntains als a descriptin f hw t use it. 15 MA VPU New Pixel Mapper implemented. The MA VPU use nw the library f the grandma2 cnsle and will autmatically cpy patch, psitin, and fixture type int the VPU. If needed, changes f these values are autmatically cpied int the VPU as well. S if the psitins are setup in the grandma2 Stage View, the setup f the Pixel Mapper can be linked t grandma2 cnsle. Hw des it wrk: Fixture Types d nt have t be written separately fr the VPU. S if the fixtures have been written and patched in the grandma2 cnsle, the VPU will use the Clr RGB 1, Clr RGB2 and Clr RGB 3 Parameters f the patched Fixture Types. If n Clr RGB 1-3 parameters are fund, but a Dimmer Channel, RGB Data will be merged and send t the Dimmer Channel as intensity cntrl instead. All ther parameters will be send with the value f "0" by default. The editing f the Pixel Mapper Setup can be dne in the VPU and in the grandma2 cnsle. In the VPU: G int the Pixel Mapper and in the library tab n the left side yu can nw select each Fixture Layer f the Setup that cntains Fixtures yu want t use. Select these Fixtures and use the "Add t Output" buttn. A pp-up will ask, which axis is used: any cmbinatin can be dne and each axis can even be inverted. This is used t "transfer" the psitin frm the 3D Stage View Envirnment int the 2D ftprint in the VPU. This prcess is cmparable t the ptin "take Camera" in the Layut View, but with fixed psitins. Fixtures and channels can be stred in varius Pixel Mapper Outputs, if needed t create a different mapping. The psitin data in the Pixel Mapper is nt identically t the psitin data in the Stage View. It is nly a tw dimensinal abstractin with its wn psitin data. E.g. Fixture 1 thru 10 can be inserted with axis +x+z (the default axis, frm the frnt view), while Fixture 11 thru 20 can be inserted with axis +x+y (frm the tp view). If the same Fixtures get inserted again int the same Output (r an verlapping range), the user gets prmpted: "Overwrite psitins frm existing Fixtures." r "Add nly new Fixtures. Existing Fixtures are untuched.". After Fixtures have been "transferred" int the Pixel Mapper, their psitin can be mved and adjusted. This will nt cause any feedback int the grandma2 cnsle, just as in the Layut View. If, hwever the psitins shall be updated again in the VPU, insert the Fixtures again int the wanted Pixel Mapper Output and chse "Overwrite". Patch and Fixture Type data are always cnnected t the grandma2 setup. S if anything is exchanged in the cnsle, these changes will be recgnized and calculated fr the VPU Pixel Mapper, e.g. a change frm a Martin Mac 700 Wash t a GLP Impressin will nt be a prblem any mre. The grid mde shws all the ptins f each panel (the abstractin f fixtures and channels in the Pixel Mapper Editr) in a tabular view. Values can als be edited here, t. T send the data via MA-Net2, select the prtcl in the ptins f the Output and enable the Pixel Mapper Main Render flag. A maximum f 256 universes can be send, and all 3 prtcls share the same amunt. S e.g. yu can send 200 universes f MA-Net2, 20 Universes Art-Net and 36 Universes sacn. MA-Net2 is put ut n Ethernet1, sacn and Art-Net are put ut n Ethernet 2(n a VPU). T send the Pixel Mapper data back int the cnsle, n additinal Ethernet Cable is required. T create a VPU Pixel Mapper setup that has mre parameters then the cnsle can calculate, use the fllwing apprach: In the setup f the grandma2 cnsle a new clumn per Fixture has been inserted N Parameter. If this clumn is set t yes, all the prgramming fr this fixture is lst, it des nt cnsume any parameters any mre in the grandma2 and the VPU will send ut the default values defined in the fixture prfile additinal t the Clr RGB 1-3 values. The idea: if this flag has been set (N Parameter), the Fixtures can still be selected, but nly cntrlled by the VPU, nt the cnsle. Additinally the set default values fr this Fixture are transmitted. These values can be changed (e.g Dimmer t 100%) in the grandma2 / Patch & Fixture Schedule / Fixture Types. New Pixel Mapper supprts fixture types that allw circular pixel psitining. Since the restrictins are nly frm the grandma2 side, any pixel / sub-fixture psitining can be dne. A gd example is the Ayrtn Magic Panel 602 R. Otherwise these Universes will be send bradcast. This mde can be set per Output in the Art-Net mde. A delay can be set here t create an utput shaping. A default value f 0.1 is a gd value. Since Art-Net 3.0 supprts mre than 256 universes, the utput can be shifted in 256 steps. By default the Art-Net Netwrk is set t 1, which will result in the previus standard f universe 1 thru 256. Pixel Mapper Setups are merged HTP in the VPU if they verlap. E.g. the user creates tw setups fr the same Fixtures, but he designs the Pixel Mapping differently with 2 different Camera inputs. Nw the user can send the tw utputs simultaneusly and they are HTP merged in the VPU befre the same universes get send ut nly nce. String int Pixel Mapper Outputs is supprted by the cmmand-line and it gives yu a regular pp-up windw. E.g. Stre PMArea 1.1 /merge /Axis=+x+z /nc wuld wrk. If /nc is missing, then the pp-up cmes up and takes ver the already adjusted /set parameters. In cntrast t the grandma2 cnsle, the VPU Pixel Mapper wrks based n Fixtures and nt n Sub-Fixtures. S nly entire Fixtures can be cntrlled, nt single pixels f it.
