1 2018 is coming to an end, and we re diving headfirst into Winter! We hope you re staying warm in the midst of unpredictable cold. We re wrapping up the year with plenty of seasonal fun, so read on and discover what s in store! Our lovely Annex Book Sale will be offering gift bags and cards to stuff with books! What better gift for readers? Choose from our wide selection of media, including a large collection of Christmas books, movies, and music for all ages! Hours of operation can be found on page 2. Be sure to come and listen to holiday music on Tuesday, December 11! Bob Burch will be returning to play piano for this event, and we ll have a new piano too. If an item interests you, you can give us the ornament and the dollar amount listed, and we ll purchase the item! Your name will be added to a bookplate and you ll be the first to check it out! Donations will be due by Dec. 29! The Earth is actually closest to the Sun in Winter! This point in Earth s orbit is called the perihelion. The tilt of Earth s axis is what causes the seasons, not the distance from the Sun. For this reason, the Southern Hemisphere will begin Summer this month on December 21 while we start Winter lucky!

This series follows the O Brien family throughout their everyday lives which are nothing short of dramatic. Abby, the oldest sibling, has relocated back to her family home with her two daughters after a not-so-friendly divorce to find that her high school sweetheart Trace, an aspiring country music artist, is back in town too. Returning to her hometown also means engaging in the lives of her siblings: Jess, a free spirit attempting to become the owner of a successful bed and breakfast; Bree, a former playwright; Kevin, a soldier adjusting to civilian life; and Connor, a lawyer who is finally stepping out of his brother s shadow. To top it all off, their parents, Mick and Megan, are also making an effort to rekindle their friendship, with the help of Mick s mother, Nell, after a divorce that left Megan estranged for many years. The O Brien s are a family that must face life s challenges, but always finds hope in their enduring love toward one another. As a busy mom, finding time to watch a TV show or movie on DVD is difficult, if not nearly impossible, let alone binge-watch something; however, I was hooked on this series after the first episode, and spent a lot of my free time over the next week watching both seasons that are out on DVD. I think Hallmark does it right when looking for clean, familyfriendly shows. They definitely do not disappoint with this series either. While I have not read the books from which this show is based, I have enjoyed watching a show that depicts real people with real-life problems without the soap opera drama. This show is filled with family drama, but most of it isn t any more dramatic than what some of us deal with on a daily basis. This is a definite good watch for anyone looking for a clean, family-friendly TV series. There are no references of sex or nudity and only one instance of profanity. Seasons 1 and 2 are available for checkout at the library! Season 3 has aired on television and will be available for checkout as soon as it s released on DVD. There is no official release date yet. Rated TV-PG. IMDb Rating: 7.8/10
