3 1. Elecrical Specificaions The CyberDisplay 320 is an acive-marix liquid crysal display, wih spaial resoluion wih a high efficiency Cyberlie TM backligh. The display is fabricaed in a high speed, low power CMOS process uilizing single crysal silicon-on-insulaor (SOI) saring maerial. The display s inegraed horizonal and verical shif regisers wih hin film ransisors mee he performance demands of high-speed video applicaions. The display uses complemenary analog video inpus. 15 3. Display Mechanical Specificaions The CyberDisplay TM 320 display is facory sealed ino a polycarbonae module. This module performs he following imporan funcions: Seals he display from he environmen. Conains and proecs he wo polarizing elemens. Provides robus srain relief for flex PC cable. Provides visual framing of he display aperure. Masks exraneous ligh from he backligh. Provides mechanical inerface wih precise regisraion. The CyberDisplay 320 Display Module is designed for snap assembly o Kopin CyberLie TM backligh module. Cusomers providing heir own backlighs can regiser o he feaures provided on he display module. Four noches in he viewing face are inended o inerface wih snap feaures on he backligh. The flexible PC cable is srain relieved, bu ugging forces should be limied o less han 1 lb. in any direcion. The minimum inside bend radius for he cable is.03 inches. Repeaed reformings are no recommended. Figure 3-1. 19 6. Packaging and Handling Informaion 6.1 Display Panel Shipping Package Display panels are packaged in an anisaic ray approximaely 12 inches by 15 inches. The ray holds 90 displays. The rays sack on op of each oher, wih he boom of one ray being he op of he one underneah. The rays are sacked 5 deep and an empy ray placed on op of he sack. The sack of rays is vacuum sealed in a moisure barrier meallic bag. A fully populaed bag conains 450 displays and is approximaely 2.5 inches high. Each bag has an idenificaion sicker aached for racabiliy. An elecrosaic sensiive devices label is also affixed o he ouside of he anisaic bag. The packaging of rays and sealing is done in a class 10 clean room environmen. See Figure below. Figure 6-1. 20 Four bags of displays are placed in a shipping caron giving a oal of 1800 displays in a fully populaed shipping caron. The bags are wrapped wih bubble wrap for proecion during shipping. The appropriae shipping documenaion is affixed o he caron. 6.2 Handling he Display The display bag should be opened in a clean environmen, preferably in an assembly area. Normal elecrosaic precauions should be followed when handling he displays. The sack of display rays will be loosely held ogeher when removed from he bag. Once aken from he bag, he sack of rays should be held from he boom o provide suppor when moving. To open he bag, place he display bag on a fla surface wih he label side up. Using a blade or knife carefully race along wo adjacen edges of he bag o cu open he bag. Slide he sack of rays ou of he bag. Normal elecrosaic precauions should be followed when handling he displays and assembling he display and backligh. The displays should be assembled in a clean environmen so as o minimize he possibiliy of dus paricles being deposied on he display viewing area. A class 10,000 or beer clean room environmen is recommended. Vinyl ani-saic gloves or saic-dissipaive finger cos should be used when assembling he display and backligh module. The preferred mehod for removing displays from he ray is o use a vacuum pen or weezers and grasp he display a he middle of he flex cable. CyberDisplay 320 Specificaion 6-20
