1 Grove City Community Library 125 W Main St Grove City, PA Phone November 2018 Newsletter November 2018 Volume 12, Issue 11 Library Hours Thanksgiving falls on November 22nd A day when we close our library and go home to enjoy family and friends. We anticipate the smell of turkey and stuffing roasting in a warm oven as we come in from the cold to gather together. On this day we celebrate how thankful we are. Let us not forget that it was, and is, our soldiers who have protected our freedoms, essentially allowing us to enjoy this gathering. Veteran s Day falls on November 11th A day when we honor our Veterans. The white table on display at our library for the month of November is to remind us of all of the soldiers who fought for our country and did not make it home. These are men and women who cannot be at our Thanksgiving tables. We salute them. The table was donated and set up at our entrance by the Harrisville American Legion Auxiliary #852. There is a special meaning behind each item on the table and a white cloth covers it to honor a soldier s pure heart when he answers his country s call to duty. Please stop by and read the book on display titled America s White Table by Margot Theis Raven to help further understand the items placed on this table. There are still more than 83,000 American troops missing in action. America s POW/MIAs should be honored and recognized, not just memorialized. A special thank you to all of our library patrons or families that have members who have served in any branch of the military.
