7 1 General Instructins 1.1 Standards Brief This standards dcument, and the cllectin f standards t which it belngs, is aimed at prviding clear guidance t cntractrs and staff engaged t undertake audi visual wrks in University teaching spaces, meeting rms and ther AV installatins. The bjectives f the standards dcuments are t ensure cnsistent interpretatin f technical requirements, and cnsistent delivery f functining and maintainable spaces. This dcument shall be used when planning refurbishments r any new wrk fr audi visual installatins thrughut the University. This dcument defines a standard set f rm cnfiguratins that allws the University t have cmmn teaching spaces, meeting rms and ther AV systems, acrss all campuses and ther sites, that are easy t use, easy t supprt and highly reliable. The purpse is t deliver a cmmn user experience the same lk, feel and peratin f audi visual equipment acrss rms n all f the University s sites. 1.2 Plicy This standard applies t all Audi Visual systems thrughut Deakin University and assciated lcatins managed by Deakin eslutins. 1.3 Standard Dcument Access All Deakin University DeS staff and cntracted persnnel are prvided access t this dcument. Designers, installers and cntractrs must ensure they have the mst current versin f all standards prir t engaging in any wrk. 10 3 Audi visual cnfiguratin packages This dcument prvides an verview f the functinal requirements f the varius standard types f audi visual system cnfiguratin. Each standard rm within the University equipped with audi visual systems is classified int a categry which describes its level f audi visual functinality. Fr example, a rm classified at AV1 has lwer audi visual capability than a rm classified at AV9. Refer: When installing these rms the installer shall refer t all ther dcuments in Vlume 2 in particular the ICT 2.2 Audi Visual Technical Design Standards dcument fr detailed technical standards. At this release f the standards, the standard types and variants have been simplified. Mapping between the ld and new numbers is set ut fr reference in Appendix B. Please refer t Sectin 4.5 and 6.2 belw fr details. 3.1 Selectin guide verview AV2 is used nly where the applicatin fits within Skype fr Business 3 seat ftprint limit therwise use AV4 instead. AV4+ is an enhanced versin f AV4, adding Spark Rm Kit Plus. AV6+ is a lwer-cst alternative t AV8, but with nly a single display and relying n PC sftware based videcnferencing PC/AV Integratin ( AVI ). AV7+ is a lwer-cst alternative t AV8, adding ceiling micrphne arrays and cameras t the AV7 cre, and relying n PC sftware based AVI rather than full hardware videcnferencing. AV8+ is a lwer-cst alternative t AV9, adding ceiling micrphne arrays and ST60 tracking camera system t the AV8 cre, in place f AV9's Push-T-Talk micrphne system. AV5-SCC is a nn-preferred lwer-cst alternative t AV6, but with degraded PC-based Ech Capture and withut vice reinfrcement. Ntes: AV5-SCC is limited t small learning spaces that d nt need vice reinfrcement r hearing augmentatin, this means typically less than 30 seats therwise use the standard AV6 instead. SCC has many functinal limitatins refer sectin fr details. AV6+ is an enhanced versin f AV6, adding ClearOne DSP and bidirectinal AVI fr PC-based multimedia and realtime cmmunicatin apps. AV6+ (as well as being used as a very basic alternative t AV8) is als used in place f AV6 in larger spaces where the DVX's inbuilt pwer amplifiers are inadequate fr the space. AV8+ is limited t smaller learning spaces where students fit within the audience tracking camera's 9 m tracking range and ±40 tracking pan range. AV9 in practice is als limited t smaller spaces that are apprpriate fr cllabrative wrkgrup learning, e.g. 14 tables f 4 students each, ttal 56 seats wuld be clse t the practical limit f AV9. AV9 can nly be used in fixed furniture spaces therwise use AV8+ instead. By default, AV6+ is fitted WITH ismart presenter tracking and ismart audience PTZ cameras, but can ptinally be deplyed withut them in which case the DcCam dubles as a basic peple camera. By default, AV7 is fitted WITHOUT presenter and audience cameras the DcCam instead prviding a basic peple camera capability. 12 AV7 has the same cre engine as AV8/8+/9 therefre AV7 can be easily upgraded t AV7+/8/8+ in a straightfrward manner.
