Since Clarke s piece as so ell-knon to the audience, Treyig s piece starts ith only a rie quote o Clarke s original setting eore quickly moving into nely composed material that eatures a variety o textures, timres, and styles, several complete re-harmonizations o the tune, a cadenza or trumpets, and a grand coda that rings this exciting and eective piece to a roust and colorul close. Prince o Denmark s March Fantasy as met ith enthusiasm at the premiere perormance given y trumpeters oel Treyig and Adam Hayes and organist Andre Risinger on May 28, 2015 at St. Patrick Church as part o the 2015 International Trumpet Guild Conerence in Columus, OH. The composition as the closing piece o their eatured Lux et Lapis Music or To Trumpets and Organ recital that included orks y.s. Bach, Samuel Ducommon, Terry Halco, ohn Hingeston, Bernhard Krol, Gustav Mahler, and Kevin McKee. oel Treyig is Proessor o Music in the Belmont niversity School o Music here he orks ith undergraduate and graduate trumpet students, perorms ith the Belmont Brass Quintet, directs rass ensemles, and serves as Instrumental Coordinator. He has perormed ith symphony orchestras and ith numerous pit orchestras and chamer groups, and is an active solo recitalist and clinician. His perormances o contemporary music have earned the praise o such American composers as ohn Cheetham, Eric Eazen, Stanley Friedman, Stephen Michael Gryc, Karel Husa, Kent Kennan, Anthony Plog, oan Toer, and Luigi Zaninelli. He received his Doctor o Musical Arts in perormance rom the niversity o Texas at Austin, his Master o Music in perormance rom the niversity o Akron and his Bachelor o Music Education rom Baldin-Wallace Conservatory o Music and has also completed postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College o Music. His primary teachers include Raymond Crisara (NBC Symphony, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), ames Darling (Cleveland Orchestra), Murray Greig (English Northern Philharmonia, Oreo Trumpet Consort), Scott ohnston (Akron Symphony, Canton Symphony, Paragon Brass Quintet) and Mary Squire (Ohio Chamer Orchestra). His iography as selected or inclusion in David Hickman s Trumpet Greats: A Biographical Dictionary.
